"Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together."- Unknown

"Are you ready for your first race?" Justin glanced over at me smiling while he walked next to me behind some of our teammates, shuffling slowly. His curly golden-brown hair slightly brushed over his forehead and his eyes seemed to fixate on mine for a quick second before looking back forward as we walked.
"I'm a bit nervous but yeah I'm super excited" I mumbled softly pressing my palms on the back of my neck behind my dark brown hair shyly before looking up slightly smiling.
I studied him for a quick second in a guilty admiration. His wrist had these black knotted-like bracelets that caught my eye because they complimented his pale white skin. His clothes consisted of his normal black shorts and maroon sleeveless shirt. I guess we weren't too different when it came to how we dressed. After all, I wore my hair up in in a pony tail and left my bangs hang loosely over my eyebrows. I had a the team's uniform... maroon sleeveless shirt and black shorts.
"You'll do fine, don't stress it" He pat my head and grinned at me. I dropped my shoulders in shock and my whole world seemed to freeze for a second but I immediatly collected my composure, crossed my arms and looked up at him with red cheeks formed in a semi-pout and furrowed brows.
"I'm not a dog" I shook my head from his hand. He chuckled under his breath and without saying another word jogged up to the rest of the Highschool guys.
I exhaled out loud before subconsciously checking on my heartbeat.
"Oooooh~ What was that?" Katie, one of the middle school who I became quite close friends within the beginning weeks of cross country cooed in my ear teasingly. Surprising me at her abrupt presence.
"It was nothing. He's just annoying" I huffed looking away to pull my face mask over my nose (to hide my tomato colored face)
"Annoyingly cute!" Katie smiled at at me admiring his back side. She clearly had a odd admiration for him and wasn't afraid to make it unknown to me. I felt bad considering she was my friend but she had some odd morals. For example, She was a 13, he was 18 but that didn't calm down her 5'0 blonde self. Which at times, I did find adorable.
"Ugh you've got issues" I rolled my eyes and chuckled under my breath. I didn't pay any mind to her attempting to cling onto me. Despite her being chubbier than me and pulling on my right arm my mind was still too focused on his backside..
She went from walking normally to skipping next to me. "Hmm...Which one do you like?" She then jumped in front of me abruptly placing a hand on her hip.
My eyes widened and I looked down, before taking a deep breath. "None! What are you on! oh my god" My voice heightened and I didn't realize it until Katie raised her eyebrows at me and smirked mischievously.
