After the eventful night, Rose and I were talking in her sleeping quarters. "He gave you this necklace?" I gaped staring at the large diamond in Rose's hand.

"It's the Heart of the Ocean," Rose stated as she handed me the heavy chunk of jewelry. I weighed it in my hand before handing it back to her.

"You're going to wear this every day?" I questioned in disbelief. "It'll drag you down to the bottom of the ocean if you went overboard." Rose and I both shared a laugh at my comment.

"I don't even like it that much, I don't plan on wearing it anytime soon either. Would you want it?" Rose questioned.

"But won't Cal be upset? I don't want him to hurt you again..."

"Just don't tell him, I'll officially make it yours once I marry him so he has to deal with it." Rose smiled as she got up from the bed, walking towards her safe. "I'll keep it in here until then."

I was rudely awakened to Rose opening the curtains, letting in the bright sunlight. "Good morning dear sister!" Rose greeted loudly in a sing-song voice. I groaned and turned away from the light, covering myself with the blanket. "Oh come on Y/N, we have to dress for breakfast."

"I don't want to go to breakfast Rose, you already know how soul-sucking they are." I sighed, allowing myself to sit up with my eyes squinted. "Can I just not go?" I whined as irritation grew in me thinking of the stupid rich people conversations I'd have to sit through.

"Fine, I'll cover for you this once," Rose said as she finished touching up her makeup. "But, during dinner, you have to give me your dessert."

I gaped at the offer, "My dessert?! Now, sister that is quite outrageous."

A smile spread across Rose's lips, "A deal is a deal, my fair sister."

I rolled my eyes with a smile, "Deal."

I opened the gate sneakily making my way to the third class area. As I walked around searching for Jack, I saw how connected and open the people were with each other. Children were running around, men playing the piano, and women talking amongst one another. As I walked, many of the third-class passengers had their eyes glued to me, many curious about my presence. I awkwardly smiled as some I made eye contact with. I spotted Jack seated next to a little girl as they were both looking over what seemed to be a sketchbook.

The girl's father came to get her, she waved goodbye to Jack. He bid her goodbye, shutting the book in hand. As I got closer to Jack, a blonde girl sitting behind him whispered to the man in a newsboy cap. He quickly turned around over his shoulder and his eyes were stuck onto me as he pats Jack on the shoulder. "Jack," He called as he pointed in my direction.

Jack looked towards me, his bright eyes seemingly surprised seeing me below deck. He scrambled to put his sketches away and set them down, getting up to meet me the rest of the way.

A small smile touched my lips, "Hello Mr. Dawson."

He swallowed hard, "Hello again."

"May I speak with you?"

A smile lay on his face, before he let out a breath, "Yeah."

I turned to walk out but found Jack was still not moving, "Uhh...In private?"

"Oh, yes of course." He swiftly picked up his sketchbook, putting his arm out to indicate I go on ahead. "After you." We walked outside and made our way back to the first-class area. "How was your day?"

"Well, I rudely awaken by my sister Rose, although she did cover for me since I wanted to skip breakfast."

Jack smiled, "You and your sister Rose get along?"

"Usually we do, I mean we are sisters so it's hard not to get along with her sometimes, or else we'll be at each other's throats." We both shared a small laugh before our eyes met. I felt my cheeks burn up as he smirked.

"So what did you want to talk about again?" Jack questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh right, I just wanted to properly thank you for...you know, saving my life?" I giggled feeling embarrassment swell up in my chest. "And for going along with my story."

I glanced up at his enchanting blue eyes and we both shared a warm smile. "Y/N I would save you anytime, one call for me and I'll be your knight in shining armor."

My face flushed red at his response and I quickly looked for a savior, my eyes targeted at the sketchbook in his hand. "So what's in the book?"

Jack blinked in confusion before he followed my eyes to the book at hand. "Ah, this m'lady is my handy dandy sketchbook." He and I both took a seat on deck lounge chairs, he handed me the book indicating for me to look through.

I gasped as I flipped through the pages of the breathtaking art. "Well, you have a gift, Jack. You do." I stated as I looked over at him. "You see people."

"I see you." He answered back.

"And?" I questioned with a smile on my face.

"You wouldn't have jumped."

I frowned at his response, then continued on with looking through the rest of the sketches before shutting the book. "Well as lovely as that was let's go for a small walk."

After a bit of small talk Jack and I ended up on a ledge of the ship. His eyes fixated on the view, "Isn't it so artistic?"

"It's beautiful, it's so freeing." I sighed out admiring the sun.

"Have you ever rode a horse by the sunset along the beach?" Jack questioned as he turned to face me.

"No, Cal and mother don't appreciate a lady like myself to be participating in outdoor activities that might injure me."

"Maybe we can do it once we get to land." Jack offered.

"Can you show me?" I questioned as I now turned to face him.

He shrugged, "Sure if you'd like."

"Teach me to ride like a man," I answered back with a firm nod.

"And chew tobacco like a man," He teased in a southern accent causing me to laugh.

I responded back in the same accent, "And spit like a man."

"What? They didn't teach you that in finishing school?"

My eyebrows jumped as I shook my head, "Most definitely not."

"Well come on I'll show ya." He grabbed my hand pulling me to a different spot along the rail.

"Jack no! Wait Jack!" I pleaded to try to pull him back.

"C'mon Y/N it's easy." He demonstrated as he pushed back on the railing, then proceeded to pull himself forward and spit as far as he could.

My face scrunched up, "That's disgusting! Alright, let me try." I glanced around to ensure no one was watching, then spit.

"That was actually pretty good, but you really got to hawk it back ya know? Get some leverage to it and use your arms." He began to build up the spit in his mouth. "Arch your neck." Then he projected his spit far out.

He watch as I nodded with determination as I tried to build up my spit. He began to laugh as he watched my spit, in awe with my motivation to perfect the small task.

"Here let me show you again, you really got to hawk in." As he began to build upon spit my eyes widened. I spotted my mother and her friends walking down the deck in our direction, I began to tap Jack in order to get his attention.

We both turned around to see my mother with two other women. "Mother!" I exclaimed and Jack quickly swallowed his spit. I swallowed hard as I walked up to her, "May I introduce Jack Dawson."

I watched my mother with her blank expression as she spoke out politely, "Charmed I'm sure." Though I noticed how her eyes showed pride as she saw Jack as someone with no value. Worthless. Like an insect, a dangerous insect. Which must be squashed quickly.
