"King-In-Training"

As the sun rose at sunrise,M/N woke up in his quarters to the sound of the royal trumpets that were resonating from the highest tower of the castle rung through the whole kingdom.He sighed as he fixed his hair "Those trumpets always wake me up,no wonder I always have these eyebags",he went off the bed and casually got ready to come down to the dining room.On the other hand,his five brothers were already walking down to the dining room.Hueningkai sighed as he heard a door open "He really isn't punctual,huh?",Beomgyu pat his shoulder "Cut him some slack,he deserves to have a good rest after all the training he had yesterday".Hueningkai nodded "Yeah,that's right.I guess I'm just a little grumpy in the morning,its nothing new to me",Yeonjun laughed at his younger brother's remark before he went to look at one of the marble pillars as they passed the throne room to see if his crown was on his head perfectly.

After a few minutes,M/N walked in and bowed to his older brothers "Good morning,my dear brothers".Beomgyu smiled "Good morning,our little king-in-training.Come now,eat your breakfast before it gets cold",M/N did as told and sat at the tall chair at the northern side of the table.As he practiced,he ate in a way a king eats and made sure he didn't make loud chewing sounds.Soobin chuckled as he watched M/N "Oh,what is this?",the younger swallowed his food first before he spoke "What is what,Soobin-hyung?".The older once again chuckled "Oh,its nothing.You just make me laugh a little at how kingly you are,it makes me feel as if father was back here and you were still in your quarters sleeping in",M/N spoke softly "Thank you for that,hyung".He continued eating as memories of his late father flowed in his head like a tidal wave,Beomgyu gave Soobin a disapproving stare since he knew very well what was in M/N's head.

When they finished eating,M/N walked out the castle along with his brothers so they could start the day off with a stroll around the town.Taehyun went next to him as he fixed his gloves "Are they getting small?Should I ask the royal tailor to sew new pairs of gloves for you?",M/N shook his head "It is not needed,older brother.I was simply making them fit my hand properly by flattening the unwanted creases,situations like this are not a matter of serious importance".Taehyun smiled "Well then,I apologize for the question.I didn't mean to offend you,your soon-to-be majesty",M/N simply nodded his head as he knew he had to be formal whenever he was out and about.They finally arrived at the town square and were instantly greeted by young children who were holding small bouquets of roses,M/N accepted the simple gifts as he gave them a small smile.He went to a nearby flower bush and gave each of them a small tulip as a gift to them,he pat their heads before he walked past them and went past the fountain that was at the very center of the town square.As they strolled around and interacted with the townspeople,Beomhyu's eagle-eyed sight could see a group of young women approaching them and swiftly got a single rose from a bouquet.

Once the group of women came,the boys swiftly turned around to greet them.One of the women giggled shyly as M/N walked to her with the rose that Beomgyu gave him in his hand,he handed it to her whilst smiling charmingly at her "Here,accept this red rose that match the very hue of your soft lips.I picked it from the castle gardens myself,you see".He leaned close and whispered in her ear "The question is,which rose have I drawn my attention to more?Is it you or the rose in your hands?",he chuckled as he moved away and bade them goodbye since they had a few more minutes left before it was training.As he walked farther from the group with his brothers,the girls' excited chatter were soft but still audible which made M/N a bit shy.Yeonjun pat his head "Don't be so shy,that's another step for you to find the queen who will reign by your side",M/N nodded "Yeah,you're right.However,he hid the fact he wanted not a queen,but a king to be by his side at the throne room.

When they were back at the castle,M/N was at the wide room he always had his training at.Beomgyu nodded as he watched him have a spar with Yeonjun "That's it,M/N.Stay balanced on your feet as you dodge your opponent's blade,it will be worrying to see a scar on your face",M/N gave him a nod before he swiftly leaned right the same time Yeonjun was close to impaling his face with his blade.He moved behind him with the same speed before he placed his sword in front of his throat "I got you,hyung",Yeonjun smiled "You're getting professional with this,M/N".The other chuckled as he put his sword away "Well,I share the very same blood as you.Isn't already expected,no?",Beomgyu laughed "Well,I can't say that I disagree with the statement".M/N nodded as he drank water from his silver goblet "You can't,that's the thing",everyone let out a muffled laugh at M/N's quirky remark as the boy proudly bowed.

As they took a break,M/N was occupied admiring the outside.He had his head out the window as his hand was on the bricks of the castle wall,the wind blew his long hair which made him laugh contently.He looked back at his brothers and saw that they were gone,he went out the room and saw they were by the throne room talking to someone.He walked to them before he saw what seemed to be an angel,Yeonjun who heard his steps looked at him and gave him a nod.M/N went by Hueningkai and formally introduced himself,he looked back up after bowing and smiled the moment the foreign stranger that seemed of royalty introduced himself along with his lineage in his family's royal bloodline as well.He listened earnestly as he seemed rather charmed,on the other hand,Hueningkai knew very well of what was happening and let M/N's heart be as he didn't have the courage nor the strength to confront him about such a serious stare with someone right in front of them along with his other brothers whilst thinking : "I have to wait for the right time to move,this isn't a good time to confront him about it.I must wait,not rush."
