Blade was in the middle of the outlands with his fellow pumpkin hunters by his side, waiting for his new pumpkins to arrive. If you can consider them just like the other pumpkins.
Pumpkin hunter #45: sir, we've been here for hours, we should get back to the castle before scarecrow suspects something.
Blade: (shouts) quiet you, we'll wait here all night if we have to!
Pumpkin hunter #65: but we have been waiting here all night
Blade: my point still stands
Pumpkin hunter #45: but scarecrow expects us to be back at the castle before sunrise or he'll get really mad. And you of all people should know better not to make scarecrow mad
Blade: I am very well aware, which is why I had to hire these things to get Nico back
Pumpkin hunter #45: you do realize that if scarecrow realizes that you made a deal with these guys, then he'll uproot you for this
Blade: scarecrow will never know, that is the point of lying
Pumpkin hunter #56: I thought it was to hide the truth like a coward
Blade then smack him across the face and that brings him down.
Blade: (thinking) I hate it when he's right
Before Blade could begin to speak again, he heard a loud boom in the distance of the dark mist. He then looks to where he heard the noise, and then sees a ship hurtling towards them at ridiculous speed. When they noticed that the ship wasn't showing any signs of stopping, Blade and his hunters quickly moved out of the way and ran behind a rock. The ship then crashed on the far side of the island they were on. They went over towards the ship and the doors on the ship immediately opened revealing an entire group of pumpkins that seemed normal, but was completely different in ways they did not know yet. Except for Blade.
Pumpkin voice: that's the last time we have Bran drive
Bran: it's not Bran, it's Brain!
Another pumpkin voice: for the last time Bran, that's not how you spell brain
Bran: yes it is, B-R-A-N! That spells Brain!
Another pumpkin voice: I find your lack of knowledge for spelling to be highly, disturbing
Pumpkin hunter #65: these guys are pumpkins?
Blade: not exactly, these guys may seem like regular old pumpkins, but each of them are genetic mishaps that went wrong, but yet they possess special abilities that can be useful in defeating the skylanders, and get my son back. They call themselves, The Rejects
Bran: yeah, we rejected pumpkins, so we call ourselves rejects
Other pumpkin voice: I think they got the idea
Blade: I have also collected research papers that were supposed to be destroyed eons ago, but I figured I keep them, just in case
Blade then hands one of his hunters the papers detailing each member of the rejects. He pulls out a piece and sees a picture of one of the members in front of them.
