Filled with DEPRESSION. (Male Reader x undertale story)

chapter -3: no, he's not fine.

chara continued onto the waterfall area. They saw that sans wasn't at the post that he usually hangs about.

chara: "heh, I ticked him off. isn't that great?"

y/n: "go to hell."

chara ignored y/n's comments and went onward. this sound of water streams and Chara's own footsteps were all that they heard. they hummed a tune to themselves to enjoy the sound of their own voice. unfortunately, that wasn't possible thanks to them having y/n's body which meant that they heard y/n's voice humming. that got them irritated.

chara: "ugh, at least when I had frisk's body I actually hummed decently."

chara continued to walk until they found themselves in some tall grass. they crouched down knowing who was above them. they moved slowly but they made one wrong move that led to them hearing some armored footsteps above them. they stood still until they heard the footsteps walk away. they then stepped out of the tall grass and the monster kid from earlier stepped out as well.

monster kid: YO! did you see how she was staring at you...that...was awesome! I'm so jealous! she was just standing there waiting forever, and then you just...c'mon! let's go watch her beat up some bad guys!

the monster kid ran up ahead in excitement to see undyne. chara smiled to themselves and continued on their way. they saw that the puzzles up ahead had already been dealt with by flowey.

chara: "nice...looks like azzy is doing a good job as usual."

chara slashed down the monsters in their path, gaining more LOVE and becoming more powerful with every slash they made. after that, they kept walking forward until a spear landed in front of them. they looked up to see the armored figure of undyne above them. it was hard to tell since she had a helmet on but they could feel the hate-filled glare on them.

they started to run as undyne threw more spears at them. they were able to dodge them with ease. much more ease than they had when they were in frisk's body. they then saw some tall grass and dashed in to hide. they wasn't ready to fight the fish warrior just yet. undyne went in and searched for chara. She lifted up a hand then swiftly reached in the bushes and caught something. when she lifted it up it was...the monster kid. undyne put the small child down and hurried off in the other direction to find the human. after a while, chara and the monster kid got out of the bushes.

monster kid: yo! did you see that?! undyne touched my face! I'm never washing it again! man, are you unlucky. if you were standing just a little more to the left ...yo, don't worry! I'm sure we'll see her again! 

and with that, the monster kid ran off once again. they kept going into the waterfall area and killing off monsters. soon, it started to rain. the rain was almost...calming. not to chara, but to the soul trapped within them. y/n couldn't help but be at ease for a while. maybe he was just drained both physically and mentally, but he felt at peace for a bit. then, he heard a tune start to play. 

for some reason, chara had given an umbrella to a statue and it started to play music. and chara just...stood there and listened to it. why? chara seemed so bent on destroying everything in the underground but the sound of this tune made them stop focusing on that for a moment. y/n wondered and about this as he listened to the tune. then the tune started to remind him of someone...it reminded him of...

y/n: mom...

y/n suddenly remembered. he remembered the embrace of his mother, her kind words, the food she made, and her beautiful voice. y/n slowly closed his eyes. tears leaking out from wanting to feel it all again. what he'd give to have her back. but he was stuck here. in hell. watching a demon use his body to destroy this world. it filled him with DESPAIR, it filled him with GRIEF, it filled him with SADNESS, and of course, it will him with DEPRESSION. y/n cried. cried like a child without his mother because that is what he was. he cried himself to sleep.
