Today's Thursday and it's three days since my uncle left and am already at Hannah place, regretting I even came.
"It's a good thing you came early because we'll be watching all six." She was so excited for my doom.
" Can't we just do like anything else but that." I say placing my bag down on the kitchen counter and removing my coat.
"You'll be fine it's just a few movies." She was to busy making the popcorn to see my face of disappointment.
" You'll pay for making me suffer." I say taking a bowl of hot Cheetos and following her to the living room where the first movie was paused and waiting.
" Now let the fun begin." I am not ready at all, I hated scary movies. They would linger on my mind for days after.
Taking a blanket and covering myself so only one eye was out, I sit next to Hannah and faced the tv.
Hannah was laughing at what almost made me pee myself. I was going to have a problem looking in the mirror at night or not knowing what was behind my shower curtains and not being able to see around a corner before hand. I was so happy we only saw three, the movies were longer than expected and I was even more happy about having to go to work.
"That was great wasn't it, we've got to finish the rest." Hannah says throwing on her coat.
"Nope, I'm never doing that again." I say taking my bag and stepping outside the apartment.
" Why not, it's just a movie." She says following me out and locking the door and we started off to work.
" I know it's just a movie but it leaves theses things in my mind like there could be something behind my shower curtains." I say pulling my coat closer to my body as we walk through the cold, it has just started to snow again.
" Your just a baby." She says pulling her scarf up to her nose.
We walked in silence until we entered through the staff entrance. Where the girls who were leaving were getting changed. We quickly join them and change into our work dress.
"Well don't you look lovely today." Tony says as I pass through the kitchen.
"Thanks." I say walking out the kitchen and behind the counter. The diner had quite a few people today mostly drinking coffee because of the cold.
" You know I could do with some coffee too a nice golden brown like you." Tony says handing me a tray of burger and fries.
"What table is this for." I ask ignoring his comment all together.
" Four." He says and I leave him there, you get use to Tony comments eventually.
The diner was at it usual empty state close to closing time when my phone rang. It was Dmitri calling, his actually calling.
" Hey." I say into the phone, Hannah was looking at me weirdly. I simply ignored her.
" You know Dmitri when you call someone your suppose to talk to them." I say into the phone and Hannah raised her eyebrow at me.
"Am outside." His voice comes through the phone.
"And?" Honestly I know he wanted me to meet him after work but he really needed to talk some more.
"You'll meet me after you finish work." He says with his hard to understand English.
"When you say it like that it sounds like I don't have a choice. You know if you say something like I missed you maybe I wouldn't mind." I say teasing him knowing his face wouldn't change a bit.
