Struggles In The Air

New School

-Chapter 1-

6:30 AM

Aleena started to get ready for the day. Ever since last night she was getting prepared for school. She was still worried because in her town, no one really wears a hijab. She just forgot about it and continued to walk into her mothers room.

"Mama, do you think this black scarf will go with my long brownish coat?" Aleena curiously asked. "Oh honey, you are six-teen you should know your combinations my dear but yes go ahead wear that outfit." Osya replied, her mother.

Aleena started to style her hijab proudly in the bathroom. "Alright, I need a safety pin." Aleena said. After she got ready she stared at herself with her black backpack that she got from the mall and she started to say to herself "I am proud, I am pretty, and I am confident!"

She then went downstairs and had her mom's chocolate pancakes that she had since she was ten. "Mom, this is amazing" Aleena said with her mouth full" Osya slammed her hand on her head and said "Ay, my darling. You are going to choke if you do not chew" She exclaimed. Aleena nodded her head, smiling and continuing to eat.

15 minutes later

Aleena started to put on her shoes, she had gotten black vans for her first day of school.

"Alenie, Alenie, let me take your picture." Osya cried out. Alenie was her nickname for her at her house. Aleena then got a big smile and her mother snapped the picture. "You look beautiful! Alright now go with your father he's waiting in the car" Osya said. Aleena smiled and then walked out of her home then into the car.

10 minutes later

Aleena got to her new school and said goodbye to her dad. She stood in front of the entrance and took a deep breath.
