Returning and First Days At School

I finished unpacking my room and looked around already bored. Lydia was out with her boyfriend and mom was, actually no idea where she is, and Bella was at Destiny's house as usual. Instead of sitting around I grabbed my car keys and decided to see how much this little town had changed in two years, if it had at all.

Two years. I looked around before I left the house, not much had changed in the house except for maybe Bella's room. I drove around before I stopped at the nature preserve. Putting my car into park I got out and started walking around.  It was calm and peaceful, unfortunately, it didn't last as long as I was hoping as my phone rang breaking me out of my blissful state.

"Hey Lyd's."

"Roy where are you? I came home to see you and you're gone."

"Went out for a quick drive. I'll be right home." I told her.

"Great! It's been too long, Bella's on her way home to see you as well."

"I'm on my way back now."

I got back to my car and headed home. Two years I thought, since I'd seen Lydia or Bella, two years seemed like a lifetime ago. Maybe it was at this point.

I parked the car and made it back inside before I saw either one of them. Lydia went to hug me when I pulled back, "I'm gonna need to shower before we get into the lovey dovey portion of me returning home."

Regardless of my explanation her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. There was no hurt in her expression, just confusion like she was trying to piece together something.

After a second of analyzing her eyes narrowed at me, "Rory, you may be able to lie to everyone else. But you can't lie to me..."

"Rory!!!" I heard Bella yell as she ran down the stairs.

"Easy Bella. Don't overwhelm her, she's only been back a few days. She's gonna need an adjustment time."

"It's weird I thought it would be easy stepping back into my old life you know?" I shrugged. "Everything's the same, but at the same time nothings the same."

"It's normal Rory. This is your hometown, you don't expect it to change. But you've been in New York for two years being an absolutely phenomenal runway model. It's all gonna feel different."

"Yeah I guess. So uh, this weekend you guys wanna do a movie night?" I asked not sure how to approach either of them right now.

"Yeah, Saturday night?" Bella asked.

"Definitely," I smiled softly at her.

"We were just about to go grab food, did you want to come with us?" Lydia asked giving me a smile.

"No I'm good. I just ate not too long ago, you two go ahead though." I told them.

"Alright, see you when we get back Rory!" Bella grinned as she rushed past me to Lydia's car.

"We'll talk later. You're my twin, I know when something isn't right with you."

"Later then," I repeated before she walked out of the house.

I blew out a breath of air and took a moment to calm the frantic beating of my heart. 'It's fine breath. She's family, she's your sister, your twin for gods sake.' After a moment I was able to get my heart and my breathing to return to normal.

I made a mental note to get an appointment with my new therapist as soon as I could. I headed back towards my room skimming over my books again, before finally plucking one off the shelf. I must have been dozing when the door slammed downstairs jerking me awake. I heard one set of footsteps approaching my room, a knock echoed around my room.
