It had woken up from a nightmare when it had happened. It had been about me running down a long hallway, trying to reach an office that was at the very end of it. I was running full pelt, for four animatronic characters were on my tail, trying to reach for me. I tried to get to the office, knowing it was the only place could protect me, but I couldn't. I was stuck running down the hallway, taking massive steps to try to get away, but the office never got any closer. The animatronics were almost to me, Freddy reaching out for my ankle. I kept running even though I know it would do me no good as the cold, fabric and metal hand wrapped around my foot. I braced for death, but I then heard the familiar chime of 6AM. I was safe. But then I heard a small scream behind me. I turned to see the ghostly form of a girl down the other end of the hallway. And it looked like... Jamie, the girl who I saw die, yet I hear her voice on my phone everyday. She was running screaming as another spirit was chasing her. It was covered by shadow, yet it had slight tint of... gold. It grabbed Jamie and I tried to get back to her, the chime still echoing through the hall. I was stopped by a manager, saying it didn't matter what happened to her, for I had already let her die. I screamed that she could still be saved but the manager had already blocked my path, holding a pizza out for me. I tried to look past her to see what was happening to Jamie, until I noticed what was on the pizza. Flesh. Human flesh. Thick gooey globs of skinless flesh spattered all over the slices. But there was one more thing on it. Right in the centre of the pizza, was a single, bloodshot eye. But not just any eye. I knew all to well for it was one of the many things I adored about her. It was Jamie's eye.
I snapped awake from the dream, shivering in cold sweat that had been dripping from my forehead. I quickly jumped out of bed and looked around. There was nothing around. There's no hallway, no animatronics, no spirit, no manager, no flesh pizza and no Jamie. I sighed. The nightmares have become a weekly occurrence, sometimes on a daily streak. I have told my sister Macey about them, and she has been visiting as as she can to check up on me. However, I still haven't told her about Jamie. I did tell her that she died, bit not about how I talk to her. She calls on my phone everyday. I still don't understand it yet, how she is able to call with being a spirit, but I'm glad I can help give her company.
After I calmed myself down, I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. When I got there though, everything looked destroyed. A window had been smashed, with sharp, silver shards of broken glass covering most surfaces of the kitchen. Most of the dishes had been destroyed and thrown all over the place, and knifes have been stabbed into every surface of the kitchen bench. In the centre of all the chaos and mayhem was my phone, shattered into tiny indescribable pieces of twisted metal. A blood trail ran from the destroyed phone to the broken window, where I heard a bloodcurdling scream. And was an incredibly familiar scream as well. It was Jamie's. Mouth hanging open, I ran to the window while stabbing my foot on a shard of glass and a piece of my phone. I looked out the demolished window to see a purple car driving off. With a ghost-like silhouette of Jamie pounding on the back window and screaming my name.
"Jamie!" I yelled as I jumped out the widow to try and get to car.
"Mike! Help me!" Jamie howled as car sped into the horizon of the road into the night sky and out of sight. I fell to the ground in shock. Jamie, not alive, just a spirit, had just been kidnapped. And I didn't wake up in time to save her...
I screamed and pounded on the ground, knowing I done another thing wrong. Even after all I've been though... after all we've been though... I couldn't save her again.
After a moment I regained my sanity and stood back up. I knew what I had to do. I had to find her. I went back into the house, got changed and got my car keys. As I walked to my garage to get out my car, I heard a voice behind me. An unfamiliar one this time.
"Looks like you could use a little help with this one," the voice said. I turned around to see a ghostly young girl with blue eyes standing there, along with one other girl and three other boys. I then realised who they were. They were the souls of the dead children.
