{Thirty years later...}

The phone rang next to me.

I flinched as I heard it, reminding me of... well, they were just memories now. I picked it up.

"Hello, this is Mike Schmidt."

"Hi Mister Schmidt! My name is Eric Jefferson if you remember from our last conversation over the phone," a voice said.

"Oh yeah, you opened new attraction you and your two friends made based on Freddy Fazbear's at the Scottsdale Strip Mall, right?"

"Yeah, that's right. Well, um, I know that you are the one who worked with the world famous Cole Goodrich on his bestseller "Five Nights at Freddy's" and... well, I just wanted to ask you about what happened to those spirits in the suits you freed."

"Oh, well... they got sent to the afterlife," I said a bit unsure.

"Yes, but... we found a new animatronic by the name of Springtrap and... well, my friend Cleo said she hadn't fixed it yet I saw it move!"

"What?!" I asked. Another animatronic possessed?

"Do you know what could have caused this then? Because my friend has gone missing for a whole day now!"

"I-" I paused, trying to piece everything together. "I may have a lead. But till then I don't know."

"Okay, well, thank you Mister Schmidt!"

"That's fine. And please, call me Mike." I said as the phone hung up. Another animatronic possessed? I needed to ask someone. Think I know who...

I drove to the cemetery and stood in front of two simple gravestones, both in their memory.

"In loving memory of Jamie Morado/Jeremy Fitzgerald"

I shed a single tear for my two friends. "You miss them."

I turned to see Maria and the other spirits, minus the gold-haired kid behind me. I knew they would be at the meeting spot on time. However, they looked different. They were still in the forms of seven-year-olds, but they had long tear lines going down their bodies.

"Do you guys have anything to do with Springtrap?" I asked them. They looked at each other nervously and the purple-shirted boy handed me a tablet. Security footage played, showing a ghostly form, the mattered-gold-hair kid who possessed Golden Freddy with tears down his face, wandering a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. I recognised it as the same setup from the restaurant I originally worked at. Suddenly, the kid went into a secret room I've never seen before. Fritz was there, flailing into a panic as four spirits blocked the doorway out of room and one of then chased Fritz into a Golden Bonnie suit. Fritz laughed, but suddenly he shook as blood bled out of him. The footage ended soon afterwards.

"We best be going, led. Ye take care of yeself," the pirate boy said as the spirits except Maria disappeared into thin air.

Maria came up to me and hugged me. Surprisingly, she was solid instead of intangible. I hugged her back.

"I'm proud of you Mike," she said.

"Thanks Maria," I said to her.

As she started to walk away from me, she turned and said, "Call me Freddy," as she teleported away.

I reached into my backpack to grab my phone. I needed to tell Eric about Fritz being Springtrap, pronto!

I pulled out a copy of Five Nights at Freddy's, a copy of The Golden Freddy and a copy of FNAF: Grand Reopening (which Cole had created through a diary of Jeremy's he found in the alley I found Jeremy in) before my fingers closed around what I thought was my phone. I brought it out to see it was actually Fritz's badge that I had kept since I found it in the debris. On the back there were untidy words sketched into the metal:

"You arE tHe bEtTer chiLd, MikE"

I don't know when he wrote that (I assume after he realised Vincent was behind everything) but it seems he was forgiving me. Maybe. I just don't about my uncle, who was now Springtrap.

I quickly shoved the badge back in the bag and finally got my phone out. However, when I tried to turn it on, it said there was no SD card inserted. I took out the card to find it had a big crack down it's middle.

I always listen to Jamie's recording everyday, believing it keeps me sane. But now I realise I have go about this life on my own. I put the card into the napkin with my number on it that Jamie gave me and put it in front of her grave.

"I'll always be calling you," I said as I walked away from Jamie, deciding to let her go. For all Infinity...

THE END?

(Okay yeah, I kind of rushed the epilogue. It's just here to tie up loose ends really and to connect this story to Cole_Goodrich's FNAF: Fazbear Fright)
