"You are home early?" I ask,
You just sit on the edge of my bed,
I turn the kettle on,
The silence, the bubbling up of a boiling kettle,
"It feels like having to take care of something living in this room once again you know?" I begin telling you about my day,
I typically lay in my bed all crawled up, but now that my plants are here, I feel so alive.
You nod,
The kettle is ready, I pour some coffee for myself and some Earl Grey as it soothes your nerves,
I turn on the hot water in the shower,
Not to wash myself but to collect all the steam so that my indoor plants could grow,
I tell you about the Pitcher plants and the Orchids I want,
While you take little sips of silence,
I say to you, "My dear, take your coat off your weary body, It must've been wearing you so much, working all day long",
I hang up your coat, and untie the stillness of your shoe laces,
Make yourself at home silly,
It's alright now,
You're safe and welcome here any time you need to,
You've finished your tea and kept it aside,
I'm sitting next to you.
It reminded me of a moment when I was just as nervous to be lying next to you,
I sit in silence,
You sit in silence,
We both sit in silence,
Thinking about how I always wanted to be yours,
And you, suppressing the emotions you should have talked about,
We sit in silence,You and I, are two phases of the same moon,
You are my future, and I, your past,
This empty silence matches the gold cascade of the golden hour,
Even in the midst of such solemn stillness, this is how I know.
You are talking to me,
So happily, as I've just,
Within these quiet walls,
You dance in my room with your evening shadows reflecting my walls,
The sun sets,
Reserving the stillness our tired souls crave,
Babbling through the winds,
The silence and I, just had an amazing conversation,
Until next time my love,
Until next time;
