Why Would You Do That Idiot !?

Third Person POV

Y/n and Maudie walked through the childish and complicated staircases as the pink square guards guided all of the people to the next game. When they got there all they saw was a staircase and that the whole room was really bright withe the color of white.

"The next game requires you to find a partner. Once you both shake hands you both will play in the next game" the speaker with a female voice had said. I sat on the stairs while seeing Ezra and Kyle had already partnered up. Seeing that they already had shocked hands.

Maudie had saw that Y/n was alone in the staircase. Maudie stretched out her hand to Y/n. They had gladly accepted to be Maudie's partner for the game. "Maudie I'all make sure to do anything for you to win the game". What Y/n didn't know was that how will they be able to make Maudie win.

"You will be playing a marble game. The partner you have chosen is who you will be playing against. You both can choose what kind of game to play with the marbles" the speaker said as me and Maudie looked up hoping to find where the voice came from. 

5 minutes have passed and yet Y/n and Maudie just sat there...hoping something would happen. They suddenly heard gunshots. Y/n was the first one to break the tension between them.

Y/n had started talking on how what they would do once they get out of this place. Maudie was talking about how she wanted to rescue her father from jail and to try to get her cousin out of the orphanage. Y/n thought long and hard on what she actually wanted to do when she wins and gets the money. Unfortunately, nothing came to mind. Y/n knew what they had to do.

"Whoever throws there marbles near that wall over there wins.....and lets and it in one round" They said as Maudie agreed to what Y/n told. They had let Maudie go first and her marble was near the wall. Y/n was next and she still kept trying to think very hard on what they wanted to do. Y/n had good aim and could easily win this game.

THUNK

Y/n had already dropped her marble and stood up properly. Maudie then suddenly came walking towards them. "What are you doing?!" She had asked them. "Why would you do that Idiot?!"

"I have nothing" They said as their voice had crack. Maudie asked what Y/n had meant by that. "I thought long and hard enough to know that I have nothing. I don't have any siblings to go back home to. No parents to hug once I go back home. So, make sure you win the game on"

Both of the friends were on the verge of tears. Maudie had loved Y/n but never got to tell them out of cowardness and rejection.

"Maudie Miller" When Y/n had said that Maudie stopped to hear what they had to say. Now this is where Maudie was greatful that Y/n couldn't see her crying. She wanted them to know that she would still be strong even with them gone.

"I want to say that........I love you, Maudie Miller"

BANG

Now Maudie had regretted choosing Y/n as her partner. She didn't lost a friend but as a childhood crush. She had loved them from a long time but couldn't bring herself to confessing. Tears of sorrow and grief stream down her face as she followed one of the pink guards back to the place where Y/n and Maudie and woken up when they had first came here.

Next Day

Pink Guards had served Maudie and the rest potato for their food. Maudie could only take small bites of her food. All she could think about was you. Unfortunately, her life wouldn't last long as you hoped for her to win the games.

It's so unfair but hey so is life.
