MMPSH: Edward's Struggle

Chapter 7: A New Start

"So Fuyuki didn't kill you?" Edward asked Rose, "I thought he gotten you alongside your parents."

"He tried to," Rose added, "but I outwitted him. I had to get away from him somehow for my little sister's sake. I'm glad she's still here with me."

Ivy was leading Rose to the base where the Daylight Girls are. Edward waited for them to have a word with Linda, the Daylight Girls leader. He was starting to feel more better about himself. He should convince Kana to join them too, but he will have to wait for the right moment. He saw Erica coming to him with a sweet grin.

"Who is that Purrlon girl?" she asked.

"That's Ivy's older sister, Rose," Edward answered.

"Glad she has some family left," Erica added, "I wish I could see Glenda again. I miss her..."

"I'm sure she's looking down on you," Edward cued, "She wants you to keep going in life, that's what my mother wants too, and yours as well."

Erica sighed, remembering her responsibilities she had on her shoulders when her siblings were younger. Am was there watching.

"Edward," the Pichu girl grinned, "I heard you joined. Congrats."

Edward looked at her.

"Yeah, thanks," he replied.

"Surely Percy bought how you saved Gar and Mya four years ago," Am added, "and well I'm glad you did. It must of been very hard your brother doesn't care, it's not you can go back in time to change that."

"I know what you mean," Edward sighed.

"He knows what he did is right," Erica put in.

Am knew what will happen next, but walked away to see her new team member.

That evening, Edward had his chat with Erica and went to the base of the Shadow Hunters. He was greeted by Gar and the twins Timmy and Tommy.

"Show me one of your moves!" Tommy added.

"Maybe another time," Edward politely declined.

"Aw man..." Tommy wailed, "but I'm a water type like you..."

"He's just tired," Gar mewed, "I'm off to meet up with Mya soon."

Edward knew what Gar meant by that. He went to his room and layed down for a while. His new life with the Shadow Hunters is going smooth. Others helping each other out and treated with respect. Edward earned that respect when he passed his initiation. He's now content with his new life, hoping things will be okay for him.

The next few days, he went to see Erica again, and well he wouldn't expect what she told him.

"I'm expecting," she said.

Edward saw the sign that Erica is expecting.

"Oh, that's great," he cued.

'A father... me..' he thought.

Erica also said she needs to stay behind to protect her unborn child. Ada, and Espeon girl came.

"You must be Edward," she said, "I'm Ada. I did confirm that Erica is indeed pregnant."

Edward was surprised still.

"So, the other girls are starting to trust me now?" he asked.

"Indeed," Ada replied, "What you did for Mya and Am four years ago was astounding that got even Linda speechless. She agrees with Percy's decision too."

Edward wanted to say something, but was amazed he felt so appreciated in all his life.

That evening he went fishing. He got a lot of fish thanks to his new confidence he gained. Otto was amazed and so was Gar.

"That's enough to feed the whole group!" the Pikachu boy commented.

Gar nodded in agreement.

"It's the least I could do for helping me," Edward replied.

The brothers took the basket of fish to the kitchen. Edward started to look around for some herbs for Rick after words. He went back to his old home first and remembered some herbs he found when he was little to help heal Fuyuki's injuries. He took some watermint and some lavender as he remembered some of the good times. He visited his mother's grave.

"Thank you for everything," he moaned, "and thanks for stopping me from killing Fuyuki. I'll let Am deal with him, since she's related to Pam and Henry..."

'Yes,' Veronica replied, 'Am is Henry's daughter and Pam's niece!'

"What?" Edward gasped, "I had no idea, and Erica mentioned you were close to her mother!"

'Yes I was,' Veronica answered, 'and I'm glad you're living a happier life Edward. You deserve better unlike your brother. I've should have known Tory would changed him, but I also knew he killed your father. I'm glad he's gone in the Dark Realm.'

Edward knew he made the right choice.

'It's alright to return here once in a while,' Veronica cued, 'You will always be welcomed to visit my grave anytime you like.'

He returned to Rick's hut with the herbs.

"Here Rick," he said, "I found some herbs for you."

"Thanks Edward," Rick replied, "I'll store them with the others."

Edward watched the healer store the herbs.

"You took quite a while," Rick said, "Where were you?"

"I was visiting my mother's grave," Edward sighed, "It happened a long time ago when she died..."

"I'm so sorry," Rick replied with pity, "It must of been what led to your brother being so mean."

"It's all because of my step father," Edward cried, letting his old memories take his mind.

"It's alright if you don't want to talk about it," Rick added, "Why don't you get some rest in your room?"

Edward nodded and went in the base into his room. Tears of joy rolled down his face remembering his mother. He was so happy he chose a lighter path. He went to sleep. He was dreaming. He saw white and light cyan grass below him. He must be in the Star Mew mew grounds where all good mew mews go in the afterlife. Edward never imagined it would be so beautiful. He looked around for a short moment. Then he saw his mother Veronica.

"Mother, why am I here?" he asked.

"I brought you here to have a word with you," she replied, "This is Hana, Am's mother."

Edward greeted her.

"And this is Henry."

Edward greeted him too. Then there's someone he knew for a while.

"Pam?" he asked, "Is that really you?"

"It's me," Pam replied, "It's been a long time Edward."

"I had no idea Erica, Am and Mya were your nieces," Edward sighed.

"They survived the fire," Pam added, "And I'm glad that our bloodline is still going. I'm reunited with my daughters Fiona and Glenda, they were their cousins."

Edward was a bit speechless.

"You have to help Am," Veronica said, "She will need your help confront your twisted brother. I no longer consider Fuyuki as my son, but you can help her and protect Erica without hesitation."

"I promise Mother," Edward vowed.
