Freyja's POV three months later

"Grandfather, I don't know why you insist on repeating this conversation. I refuse to marry him." Freyja crosses her arms under her breasts sitting back on the bench on his and her grandmother's balcony.

Almost daily he would sneak attack her. He alternated in his attempts to ask, demand or cajole her into this ridiculous marriage proposal him and Odin had gotten into their heads. Björn copied her, but stayed standing by the doors. He watched her for a long moment before speaking.

"Give me one good reason why not and do not tell me it is because he is a Snoronga." Freyja snorts out a laugh which causes her grandfather's tough countenance to crack. Björn was every bit of the grumpy bear he was named after with everyone, but his wife, daughter and granddaughter. (*Spoiled little brat)

"Okay, how about because he has the emotional range of a teaspoon!" He laughs at her description of their prince not understanding the Harry Potter reference. Freyja knew all she had to do to get him to stop being a grumpy pants was to make him laugh and then they'd be golden and could move on.

"Besides, I'm only twenty-six and nowhere near ready to get married. We've had this discussion many times." At his raised eyebrow she continues. "Or how about the fact that he's in prison? As a little girl I certainly didn't aspire to be a prison wife when I envisioned my future husband and the life I expected for myself." Freyja hopes that that will end the discussion for good. No point in marrying her off if the bridegroom was imprisoned for treason for the rest of his life.

Her grandfather casually strolls over to lean against the balcony with a delighted expression on his face that she didn't like one bit. "Odin has confirmed to me that in a couple decades he plans to release Loki. Your marriage would not be impeded at all by his incarceration. That should be a decent length of time for a betrothal and courtship to give you time to get know to the young prince."

Jumping up Freyja points her finger at him in barely contained anger. "Keep talking about marriage and I'll go back to Midgard. You can't marry me off if I'm not on this planet!"

"As head of this family I could wed you by proxy. It is only because of the love and affection I have for you that I treat you to the legal age of autonomy in Asgard, but that can be changed." He growls back at her.

"It's not my fault your daughter accelerated my aging process. By the Asgardian age chart I'd still be in leading strings, but I'm not. By all accounts and purposes I'm technically Loki's age." Crossing her arms back under her breasts she says, "Maybe I'll take a page out of my mother's book and marry a mortal. There are plenty of men on earth that would love to be with an Agardian goddess!" She reminds him of her mother's trickery and her desirability.

His face turns red in anger that matches Freyja's. Throwing his hands up he yells, "You stubborn headed girl!"

"Oh yeah? Who do you think I inherited that trait from." She calmly says and smirks at him. Rolling his eyes at her, Björn cracks a smile at the reminded similarities in their personalities.

Caressing the side of her face he capitulates. "Fine, you win for now. No marriage to Loki Odinson will be discussed for at least a year." When she goes to argue he clamps his bear paw of a hand over her mouth. "Before you argue with me I would strike a bargain with you."

He's lucky she loved him otherwise she'd have bitten him.Raising an eyebrow since she couldn't answer she silently communicates to continue. "Once a year on the day of your birth I will ask you to wed the prince. You must give me a real reason as to why you can not wed him. If you can not give me a satisfactory answer then we will proceed with the betrothal." Taking his hand away from her mouth her grandfather waits for her answer.
