"You eat like an animal babe." I giggled at Ryder.

"Yeah, but you're marrying this animal so," Ryder said with a mouthful of food. I gave him a look. We're in public, I mouthed at him. He, not exactly caring, gave me a shrug and I facepalmed. Remind me again why I decided to marry him?

"You're lucky I love you." I rolled my eyes at him.

"I love you too. And I'm going to show you just as much when we leave and head back to my place." he winked. I smirked, but I had a gut feeling that it probably wouldn't happen and or something will happen at one of his clubs and he'll have to leave and go deal with that. And knowing me.

My gut was always right.

For our date this evening, Ryder and I decided to head to this new place not far from his house which apparently had the best fillet mignon and lamb. It was quite elegant and very large spaced. And not to mention, very expensive. Yet in Ryder's defence, was very affordable. I would maybe be able to come here once a year, twice if I'm lucky. Ryder's mother always came here with her husband and insisted that we try this place for ourselves. And so far, I was impressed. I was so full that I didn't even have room for dessert.

"I appreciate you getting us in to your club last night," I mentioned to him. "I know Ellie and Jackson both had a great time."

"Hey, it's not a problem. You and your friends are welcome anytime," he smiled. "However, I did notice you guys leave in quite a hurry though. Was everything okay?"

I swallowed nervously. Think Vanessa, think! "Oh uh—just a fight broke out and it was getting pretty intense. Jackson and Ellie were super drunk, more so Jackson, and Brayden had to be up early in the morning too, and us with work." I lied.

Ryder nodded, his head tilting to the side as if he was trying to read my mind. "Huh. Well, that explains a lot. I was alerted about a fight that did break up on the second floor and my security team did have to take care of them and throw them out."

I frowned in confusion for a moment. Huh. It must've started right after we left the upstairs floor. "Yeah, that fight. Do you know what the fight was even about?"

He nodded. "I'm not entirely sure, so don't quote me on that, but from what my security team told me, a gentleman was drunkenly hitting on a female and her boyfriend came back to him trying to grope her inappropriately and without consent. He lost it and almost beat the guy up to the point where we would've had to call an ambulance. But in all honesty, I don't blame you guys for wanting to leave and get out of that situation. I also don't blame the boyfriend either. I most likely would do the same."

I also nodded in agreement. "Yeah. And yet I'm a a police officer for fucks sake. You would think that I could've stepped in. But you know how I am. Fights like that always tend to make me nervous. You never know what could fucking happen next. Not to mention that I would've had to call my sergeant."

Ryder shushed me. "Babe, would you be able to lighten up on the swearing a bit please? We're in a restaurant." he reminded me.

I furrowed my brows. Lighten up? Huh. "And? I always swear. I'm not yelling either, you know." I stated.

"I know, but could you possibly go a day without saying a curse word for once? No offence." he asked me.

I started to get triggered a bit. "Ryder, you've never had a problem with me swearing, even in public. Where is this coming from?" I narrowed my eyes at him, leaning back into my chair to cross my arms over my chest. This was suddenly foreign to me, for him to react or comment on my choice of words. Sure, I swore a lot but I would try my best to keep it at ease or at least quiet if we were out in public.
