An alarm sound that is definetely not mine woke me up. I slowly opened my eyes, only to see Yeji's face just inches away from mine. I forgot that I fell asleep beside her last night. I just stared at her face, admiring her features, she simply looks ethereal no matter how you look at her.
"I wish I can wake up to this sight everyday" I thought to myself. I don't know why, but my hand moved on it's own and caressed her cheek, she's just too precious. But I was snapped out of my thoughts when she spoke up.
"Good morning Y/N" I quickly retracted my hand and looked away from embarrassment. "Good morning Yeji" I then felt her hand grab my chin and forced me to look at her. "Why are you looking away? Do you not like seeing me?" She said while pouting cutely. OH MY GOD SHE'S ADORABLE! Now I can't take my eyes off you! "N-no it's not like that! I'm just a bit embarrassed"
"Why?"
"Yeji, we're too close" her eyes widened at the realization, but she then gave me a seductive smirk which made me nervous as hell. "Why? Don't you like it if we're close like this?" Why? Just why are you doing this? You're gonna give me a heart attack. "I actually like it alot" I thought to myself.
"Wait, you do?" Ohh shit. "Did I say that out loud?"
"Yes you did!" I couldn't help but blush from the embarrassment, it's so early in the morning and so much has already happened. To save my self from further disaster, I jumped out of the bed and went for the door.
"Y/N wait!" I heard Yeji say from behind me. I turned around just in time to see her tripping. I tried to catch her, but she grabbed onto my pants, and only my pants, accidentally pulling it down. She also fell in a way that she's kneeling infront of me.
"Yeji! Are you alright? Did it hur-" my words were cutoff by the door creaking open. "Unnie, Y/N, breakfast is re-" I turned my head, just to see Ryujin looking at us with her jaw dropped. At first I was confused, but then I realized we're in a really awkward position right now and it looks like we're doing something we're not.
"Unnie, I thought you were calling Yeji u-" Yuna got cut off because Ryujin covered her eyes and dragged her away. Shit, how can I ever show my face to them again? I'll probably die of shame, first the girl who saw us last night, now Ryujin. This is all a misunderstanding!
"Ughh that hurt" I completely forgot that Yeji is still here. I quickly pulled my pants up before taking her hands and helping her up.
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah, my knees kinda hurt though"
"Let's go downstairs, let's put an ice pack on that"
I was about to exit the room, but she resisted and pulled me back. I tilted my head in confusion as she just looked at me with a serious look in her face.
"Is there something wrong?" I asked her. "What do you mean by what you said earlier?"
Shit. What do I say to her?
"What do you mean?"
"Don't act dumb Y/N, I heard it clearly"
I'm completely cornered with no way out. She basically have me in checkmate right now. You know what? Fuck it, I'll confess to her now.
"Alright, Yeji, what I said earlier is true"
She looked at me with a soft look in her slightly watery eyes. "What do you mean Y/N?"
"I'm saying I love you Yeji. I'm sorry if I kept this from you but I really do. I just don't want to risk ruining our freindship, we've known each other since we were kids, and we have stuck together since then. I was afraid that I might lose you if I confess, since there is a big chance that you might not feel the same. It's alright if you don't feel the same, but from the bottom of my heart, I love you so much, Hwang Yeji"
I looked her straight in the eyes, and my mind is immediately filled with worry. I can't explain her expression, she looks like she's going through a hundred different emotions at the moment.
We just looked at each other without saying a word for a minute, and at that moment, I know that she doesn't reciprocate my feelings. It hurts, but I need to accept.
"Yeji-ah, I have to go now" I looked down and turn to the door. But suddenly, I felt her grip my wrist and yank me back at her.
"I didn't tell you my response yet pabo" she has this emotion on her face that make it look like she's genuinely mad.
"So, what is it?"
"All of the things you said earlier, do you mean it?"
"Ofcourse I do, I don't have any reason to lie to you don't I?"
"You might just be pulling a prank on me"
"I'm serious Yeji, I love you, with all my heart"
"Do you really mean it?"
"Yes I do! How many tim-" I got interrupted when Yeji pulled my collar and smashed her lips with mine.
My eyes widened in shock, I thought this was just going to happen in my dreams. My mind was dazed, and my eyes slowly start to close as my lips just automatically moved in sync with hers. I moved my hands on her hips and pulled her closer as she put her hands on my cheeks deepening the kiss. I was in euphoria, I've longed her lips for so long.
After about two minutes, we pulled back for air. We stared each other in the eyes as we both took heavy breaths.
"Yeji..." were the only thing I could utter. I was still in complete shock and my mind is still confused, I need answers.
"Y/N, that's my response" she gave me a warm smile before hugging me tightly.
"I love you too Y/N, and I'm so glad that you feel the same way" I couldn't believe my ears. There's no way this is actually happening.
I touch my face and pinch my cheeks a few times to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
"Are you serious Yeji?"
"Ofcourse, I don't have any reason to lie to you don't I?" I just cracked a smile and hugged her back tightly.
"Y/N-ah, do you remember what I said when we were just kids?"
"Which one?"
"That we would get married in the future if we're still best friends"
"You still remember that?"
She looked up at me with a smile and nodded. "And I'm serious about it. I want to be with you forever Y/N"
"Well, maybe let's take things slow for now. Do you want to be my girlfriend?"
She pulled me in once again and kissed me for a few seconds before pullung back. "Is that answer enough for you?"
I nodded with a smile and hugged her tightly once again.
Who knew that our little puppy love will blossom into some thing greater like this?
