Ranboo walked into the park, looking around with a smile. They didn't have a lively park like this from where they lived before.
Hw lived in a big bustling city, meaning that the park always looked.. not as peaceful as it should. There always had to be a loud noise - even at night. There was always at least a passing car or the barking of dogs. Crying of children or the traffic a good few miles away. It sucked sometimes, but it was home.
Here... it was different. There wasn't loud honking of cars from traffic or barking of dogs. Hell, there was barely any crying children. The most noise there was was laughing kids as they chased each other, shouting thier lungs out and the ruffling of tree's leaves as a breeze passed over.
They sighed softly and went to a bench, sitting down. He closed their eyes and completely relaxed. They remembered the thought they had the last time they had here. He was still confused about it and what it meant, but just brushed it off.
It was nothing after all.
---
Tubbo had been sitting under a tree, watching a hive of bees boredly. He enjoyed bees - they were his favorite insect of course - so.. he could watch them for a good while.
He would've asked Tommy to come to the park and hang out with him, but Tommy had family plans. They would've brought Tubbo with them, but Tubbo was already dropped off and Tubbo was 90% sure Phil didn't want to deal with Tommy and Tubbo's rowdiness for yet another day.
It was fine. Tubbo was okay on his own. He had other friends too, but Jack and Niki were both working, Aimsey was on a last minute family trip, etc. So.. he was alone for a bit.
He sighed to himself and started watching the people in the park. There was many kids here since it was still summer, a few couples out on dates. A couple of old people doing yoga. The usual stuff. However... Someone new caught his eye.
He could memorize all the faces in this town and yet this was a new one. Strange... The person already made him feel safe and he didn't even know them. He studied them quietly, thinking to himself.
They looked rather pretty in an admirable way - not romantic. He found them interesting. Such a cool outfit too.
He saw the person start looking around and he quickly looked away, watching the bees once more. His mind was intrigued on this person, thinking of all the mental notes he took.
---
Ranboo could've sworn they felt somebody watching them. He looked around, extremely confused when they saw no one. Strange. Maybe it was that new kid anxiety - scared that you're being judged because you're new to a small town like this.
He hummed to himself and went back to just relaxing. They missed their old home, but knew they would never be able to go back. His mother told them that it was for her work so they really can't beg to go back to the loud rowdy city.
He was snapped out of their thoughts when they felt somebody tap their shoulder. They looked up in front of them and saw a familiar brunette. Where has he seen him before..?
"Hi!"
Ranboo blinked, continuing to stare. Why did he look like they've seen him before?
"Helloooo?"
It really was strange. He looked so awfully familiar. As if he's known him in a past life or something. They blinked out of their thoughts and said "Oh.. uh. Hi..?"
The stranger sat down beside Ranboo "You're new right? I've never seen you around before!" Ranboo nodded and scratched the back of their neck "Yeah... uh.. I just moved here a couple of days ago.." The person looked almost... excited.
He said, his voice fast "Where did you move from? Why did you move? Why did you pick this town? What's your name? Where do you live?"
Ranboo took a minute to process what was being said "I moved from a small town called End. I moved since my mom's work. This town since - once again - my mom's work. Uh.. I'm.. Mark... and I live in the neighborhood down the road.."
The other male smiled "That's cool! I'm Toby, but all my friends call me Tubbo" Ranboo nodded and said "Yeah.. Nice to meet you Toby" Tubbo smiled wide "Nice to meet you too! Do you need a tour of the town? I've lived here my whole life so i know this place like the back of my hand!"
Ranboo thought for a minute before saying "Uhm... Sure..? Maybe after me and my mom have gotten done with unpacking.." Tubbo nodded "Alright! I live in the neighborhood. House 3214. Here's my number so you can call me when you're ready"
Ranboo nodded once more before grabbing their phone and adding Tubbo's number. Tubbo hummed, checking the time "Well I gotta go now, big man. Catch you later" Tubbo quickly ran off and Ranboo watched him leave with a blink.
Huh.
Such a strange little town...
Ranboo checked the time and decided to head back home. They stood up and gathered all his things before stretching and walking out of the park.
Maybe tomorrow he'll see that boy again...
