"NIGHTMARES." (PART 1.)

Author's Note: I would like to apologize for the delay for chapters, as I've been dealing with writer's block and real events happening in my life. I sincerely apologize for this, and I will try to focus on updating at least once a week. I know it has been almost a month since I last updated, but this story is NOT abandoned.  I would like to thank everyone, because as of time of writing, this story has 36 reads, and it's on two reading lists. Compared to other stories on Wattpad, I know this isn't a lot, but it brightens my day knowing people read my content!  By the way, if you make it to the end, I hid a clue to what the next chapter is going to be about in some of the very last sentences of this chapter. Put your guesses in the comments!   I'll be ending this chapter on a cliffhanger, but since I have Thanksgiving break this week, I should be able to get the next chapter out soon. Stay safe! :D

                                                     "NIGHTMARES." - Part 1.                                        

                                                            Satoshi's POV 

He struggles to stay awake, but putting one foot in front of the other is a big task, as his exhaustion reaches the limit. Slowly walking, he's wobbling uneasily. Gengar manages to catch Satoshi before he hits the ground.

"Gangar!" cries the Pokemon, having a soft spot for him. 

Gangar tries his best to carry him, but Satoshi know he's heavy.

His eyes slowly close, ready to depart into unknown dreams.

"Satoshi?!" exclaimed a worried Gou, who was wondering what had happened. 

His eyes flutter open-he tries to speak, to tell Gou a thousand times over he's fine, no need to worry or fret about him, that everything is okay. He opens his mouth, trying to make up for moments lost.

Nothing comes out, except for...

"Gou?"

Satoshi meekly looks up, trying to make eye contact.

"Satoshi?.."

His eyes struggle to stay open.

"Did I-?"

He falls backwards, collapsing into Gangar's stout arms again.

"SATOSHI!!!"

He gets sucked into a hole of infinite darkness.

There is no light.

Only dark.

The worst part?

No Gou.

                                                                   Gou's POV

Sitting on a chair in his dorm, he longingly looking at the boy resting in the bottom bunk bed. He checks his Rotom phone for any missed calls. He had called the Sakuragi household, only to  reach voicemail. Quickly checking on Satoshi, who was still sleeping, he went to go see how Pikachu was doing. 

"Hey, Pikachu?"

The mouse Pokemon was startled, as he had been staring at his Trainer, deeply concerned.

"Pika?"

"How are you doing?"

"Pikachu, pika Pikapi..."
