"Yes, Mom, I've locked all the doors and windows." I said into the phone.

"Just making sure, honey. Are you sure you're ok by yourself?"

"I'm fine, I promise! You're only gone until tomorrow. I can take care of myself."

"Ok, ok. I'll leave you alone. If you need anything, I'm a call away."

"Yep. See you tomorrow, bye Mom."

She says her goodbye before I hang up the phone. I sigh and sit down on the couch, then turning on the tv. Flipping through channels before finding a movie that I like. I lay down and watch it for a while, feeling my eyes get more heavy. Eventually, getting too tired to go to my bed and falling fast asleep on the couch.

Waking up, I hear the sound of leaves crunching outside. I hesitate before getting up to check it out. Peeking through the window, I look around and see nothing. I wait a bit before deciding to leave it alone. As I turned the tv off, the sound became more clearer and louder.

"Maybe I should've called Billy," I whisper to myself.

I back away from the open windows and went into the kitchen to hide. I try take a few breaths to calm myself down. Just then, I heard knocking coming from my front door and I jumped from the sudden noise. Quietly, I walked over and tried to see who was out there. I saw him standing out there and sighed in relief, swinging the door open after.

"Oh, my God, Billy! You almost gave me a heart attack!" I quietly yelled.

"Sorry, I just wanted to see you," Billy said and came up to hug me.

I stopped him, smelling the alcohol on him immediately.

"Have you been drinking?" I asked, annoyingly.

"Maybe.. but it wasn't a lot!" He said, still trying to hug me.

"Ugh. Billy, you know how I feel when you drink."

"I'm sorry! Please don't kick me out. I don't want to be home with my dad right now." He sighs.

I pause before rolling my eyes.

"Fine. You can stay here tonight.. but only because my mom isn't here."

Billy hugs me in excitement before replaying my words.

"Your mom isn't here?" He asks. I can see a small smirk appear on his face.

"Yes, but that doesn't mean we get to do anything. Not when you've been drinking at least."

Now he's the one who rolls his eyes.

"Ok fine."

"Billy-"

"I promise!" He puts his hands up in defense.

"Good." I pull him inside fully and close the door.

He starts walking towards the living room before I stop him.

"Can we go to my room though? I'm tired and just wanna lay down."

Billy nods and follows me upstairs. We get to my room and I hop on my bed as he does the same. We adjust until we're both comfortable. I cuddle into his arms and he kisses the top of my head.

"Billy?" I whisper.

"Hm?" He hums, stroking my hair.

"Why did you walk in my backyard?" I wondered, remembering the leaves crunching earlier.

"What?" He asks, confused.

"I heard you walking around back there before you knocked on the front door. I'm not mad, I was just wondering why."

"I didn't."

"Don't lie to me, Billy," I said.

"I'm not. I never went back there." He stated.

"Who else would be in my backyard?"

"I don't know but it wasn't me."

"Whatever," I said to my boyfriend and sighed.

'Probably just trying to scare me,' I thought to myself.

I glanced up at him and saw his eyes closed. I kissed his lips and smiled.

"I love you," I whisper to him.

"I love you too," he whispered back, eyes still closed.

"I thought you were asleep."

"Not yet." He opens his eyes to look at me. "God, you're beautiful."

My heart flutters and I smiled while cuddling into him.

"Goodnight, Billy."

"Goodnight."

We both slowly fall asleep into each other's arms. But before I fully dozed off, I swore I could hear leaves crunching from outside again...
