#10 | Eddie Munson

"Y/n! There you are!" Eddie comes up and hugs me.

"You know we just saw each other not even an hour ago, right?" I laugh, hugging him back anyway.

"I know, but I miss every second I'm not with you."

He hugs me a little tighter before finally letting go.

"Are you ready?" He holds out his hand.

"Of course." I smile and take it, following behind him as we leave the school.

We start walking towards the woods as I question myself to what Eddie meant when he told me earlier that he had a surprise date for me.

"Wait, why are we coming over here? I thought we were going on a date?" I ask.

"We are. It's not too far, don't worry." Eddie turns his head to smile at me.

I smile back, trusting my boyfriend. We keep on walking for a little bit longer. Eddie stops in his tracks, my heart starts racing a little.

"What's wrong?" I question.

"Nothing. I just need you to close your eyes."

"Oh, well okay."

I slowly close my eyes and wait.

"Okay, good. Now just listen and follow my footsteps, I cleared the path for you so you shouldn't run into sticks or rocks."

My heart skips a beat when he says this. Why does he have to be so adorable? I inhale a deep breath before exhaling it back out.

"Okay, I'm ready."

As I'm still holding his hand, I listen and try my best to follow him. We take quite a few more steps than I would've imagined but he finally stops and lets go of my hand.

"You can look now," Eddie excitedly says.

I open my eyes, letting them adjust to the sun first before seeing my boyfriends surprise.

"Ta-da!" He holds his arms out in amazement and smiles wide.

There was a small picnic table with a cloth covering it. Plates full of food on each side with a couple of drinks to go along with it. My favorite type of flowers in a vase right in the middle of the table. And then there was the small boombox at the end, playing a song I quite can't recognize but it still fills my ears with love and happiness.

"Eddie..." I whisper, "you did this for me?"

"Of course! I wanted to do something special for you since you seem like you've been feeling down lately."

He walks up and grabs my hands in his.

"Whether you want to talk about it or not. I'm always here for you, and I want you to forever know that," he smiles, leaning his forehead onto mine.

"Thank you, Eddie. I really appreciate this so much."

"I appreciate you so much," he replies back.

Lifting his head off mine, he softly grabs my cheek. I look up at him as he stares into my eyes. He looks a little nervous but continues. Finally, he slowly leans down and kisses my lips. My heart feels like it's glowing as I kiss him back. We keep going a little longer until he pulls away. His heavy breathing making me feel some type of way..

"Y/n," he whispers.

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

It almost felt like my heart stopped for a moment. Did Edward Munson finally say the words?

"I love you too."

He smiles ever so brightly at me, making me blush in response.

"You are so adorable. I'm lucky to have you as a girlfriend," he adds.

"No, I think I'm the lucky one to have you as my boyfriend."

He kisses my forehead then squeezes me into a hug. Holding me like there's no tomorrow. We embrace each other for a bit longer until he decides to let go.

"Okay, but we should really eat before the food gets any colder. Trust me, it took way too long for me to cook it to perfection." Eddie guides me to the table.

"Hm, it better be good then." I smile and sit down.

"Oh it certainly is." He winks at me.

I laugh as he sits down on the other side of the table. For the rest of the day, we ate and talk about whatever came to our minds. It was definitely the night I needed.
