Gannon knew that his creation loved you and he hated it. He kept your lover away from you as often as he could, nearly killing you a number of times. So once Gannon was dead and gone Dark Link knew that you two could be together without any more obstacles in the way. Dark Link decided to marry you and you only agreed if he promised not to kill any more innocent people.
