**Mattie = George**

Previously...

"Yeah yeah, laugh it up. I bet you'll still get lost," he teased. "But it was nice meeting you, Mattie- again." George nodded, him and Clay saying a quick goodbye before they went to their separate classrooms.

George sat down in his history class, smiling contently. Maybe this new school wouldn't be all bad.

3rd Person P.O.V.

Unknown: it's Clay :)

George smiled at the text, quickly changing the contact information before responding.

Mattie: hi Clay!!

Clay: are you busy later? I was thinking we could hang out somewhere

Mattie: I'm not busy

Clay: address? I'll come get you

George hesitated. Did he really want to give out his address? He wanted to hang out with Clay, but...

Shaking his head, George responded.

Mattie: 69 DNF Street

Clay: I'll see you tonight :)

George squinted at the message, humming quietly to himself. He was just thankful to have made a friend on his first day.

Clay was a bit strange, but George didn't mind. He liked the mystery the boy held, it made things more interesting. Clay hadn't even mentioned a time he would pick George up at, which was a little annoying, but it wasn't like George was busy.

~

It was around 8 pm now, and Clay still hadn't shown up. George was a little nervous, but at the same time disappointed. He had been looking forward to meeting up with the blond, but he supposed it would be better if he didn't. Safer, more secluded.

Yes, this was for the best.

Well, it was, until George heard his phone buzz.

Clay: look outside

George ran to the window, looking down and seeing Clay, walking around the perimeter of the lawn, searching for the right window.

The brunette quickly unlocked the window, pushing it up and calling out to Clay.

"Up here!" He waved, catching Clay's attention. The blond craned his next, giving George a toothy grin upon spotting him.

"Mattie!" Clay exclaimed, standing closer to the window. "Come down!" George was clearly hesitant to jump from his second floor window, so Clay tried to reassure him.
