Reader POV:

My leg was slowly healing, and us three were finally on our way to the mountain, but had to go through Raven's Point.

All three of us were singing along to some of Barley's music when we started to hear a faint siren, Ian poked his head out of the van window to see a police car.

"Son of a...Barley it's the cops." He shook him slightly out of fear, Barley sighed and stopped the car. He nodded in Ian's direction, and he nodded back.

"Right, Y/N, I'll fill you in, we've done this before, you'll stay here because of your leg while Ian and I disguise ourselves as our step-dad who's a cop so the officers can leave us to our business. So, as long as we don't lie, the spell will work." Barley placed his hand on my shoulder, "trust me, just stay here with José, we'll be back in a minute."

Ian cast a spell from his staff and both the brothers transformed into officer Colt, I was immensely impressed at their skill, José stayed in my pocket as they walked out the van, Barley holding onto Ian's waist who was the top half.

"Ah, good afternoon fellow officers! Fancy seeing you both here." Ian put on a terrible impression of Colt, but it was all we could do.

"Officer Colt, isn't it a bit late for you to be out here?" A male troll officer asked suspiciously along with a female elf officer.

"Ah, well, I'm just teaching my step-son some more driving tricks, he's still a bit rough on the edges, hahaha!" Ian's laugh was terrible, but I giggled softly, but thankfully no-one could hear me.

"Ok, well, everything seems to be in good condition, well, I guess we'll leave you to it, he's gonna need those lessons more than ever now there's more risk of danger around." The female officer said.

"Well, I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. I think Barley and Ian's driving is amazing."

"No not them, the other dangerous people." She whispered.

"W-what?!" Ian's voice quivered.

"Oh come on, Colt, you know exactly who I mean, the humans, they just come out of nowhere for centuries and we don't know their intentions here. They could be here taking our jobs and causing more crime on the streets. Don't you think that they're a little bit suspicious and a danger to society?" She asked.

"Pfft, no!" Ian's left foot had turned back to normal, but he managed to cover it with his other leg.

My eyes widened when he said that, he just lied, right there in front of me. Barley looked over at me with concern, while I could feel tears in my eyes.

He lied, right in front of me. How could he?

Ian's POV:

I had managed to make the cops drive off while Barley and I walked back into the van, after changing back. I looked over to see Y/N and Barley facing me, anger in their eyes.

She walked over, and shoved me hard, I had just realised what I had done, and tried to explain why that happened, but she grabbed José and kicked the door open, stomping out of the van out onto the field.

"Y/N, please let me explain!"

"No! Go away! How could you say that! I thought you were my friend...oh I see, you're only helping me so if I get my family back, we'll leave Mushroomton, you sicko! I hate you! I HATE YOU!" She screamed, José was whimpering in fear, but she calmed him, "Don't come running after me, just leave me alone." She walked off into the horizon.

"Y/N, please...." I whispered.

"You really screwed up this time dude, I'd leave her alone." Barley gave me a stern look, and walked over with her, I hope he can talk to her.
