Bad set out for the great oak the very next day, as he had promised.

Not only does it give him a chance to chat with Skeppy again, but it also gives him a chance to take in and see the scenery once more. It was very stunning, calming him with the warmth sent out by its aura alone.

The fact that Bad came back late to the inn yesterday did not seem to matter to the rest of the group. Instead, they just passed it off as Bad doing what he normally does.

In the past, they began to notice that he often sets out on his own to explore towns whenever they happened to end up in a new region... As well as whenever they bother to ask him about it. As a result, they don't think too much of it at the beginning.

When BBH began to track, the tranquil sounds of nature could once again be heard. In the forest today, the birds seemed more lively than they did yesterday, and the suffocating feeling Bad had felt before was no longer there. It seemed cozier than anything now.

Bad stopped at the clearing the moment he reached it, admiring its everlasting beauty once more as he stood still.

While he stared ahead, looking over at the massive oak tree, as the wind gently blew his hood and strands of his hair, he studied the wind. The sun passed through the leaf spaces, making the leaves sparkle as if they were twinkling stars in the sky.

The wind whipped through the grass, causing it to whistle and wave, as though a brush was combing its way through strands of hair.

Buttercup splotches adorn the grass as well, making it appear very bright and youthful.

Despite a close inspection, Bad was unable to see Skeppy, so he assumed he was in the hollow tree just like he was when they first met.

He takes his time, enjoying basking in the heat of the sun. Despite being toned down, it lingered on, even though it dissipated as soon as he crossed under the shade.

It was not long after Bad had made it over to the opening of the hollow tree that he discovered Skep was not there either.

"Where is that muffin head...?" he mutters to himself.

Skep said to meet here, so Bad was confused. Possibly he was running late? Maybe he was playing a trick on him? Maybe he just wanted to waste Bad's time and didn't show up at all..!?

Before BBH could be able to reach a definite conclusion, he was suddenly pushed from behind.

After getting to this point, Bad managed to position his hands in such a way as to brace himself while he started to fall.

"OW..!" he cries out the moment he hits the ground.

Despite his attempts to get up, the pressure on his back prevented him from doing so.

In his effort to shift his body and turn around, he caught a glimpse of Skeppy's all too familiar blue hoodie, which gave him the clue that he needed.

"Skeppy..??" Bad stammered out.

Hearing Bad say his name made Skeppy's grin widen.

"Bad! You actually came!"

"...w-what? of course I did. You thought I wouldn't?" Bad asks, confused.

Skeppy then rolls off of the demon boy, allowing Bad to sit up.

In turn, BBH stares at Skeppy intensely, who sits beside him, his legs crossed as he stares at the ground in front of them. Skeppy proceeds to pick and play with the strands of vibrant green grass.

"..having high hopes usually ends in disappointment," Skep confessed.

Bad had noticed the sad smile that was on Skeppy's face, allowing a hole to form in Bad's heart.
