Chapter 4 [ Starry Night Part 2 ]

It was the next day, Jake and Sunghoon were both looking forward to it. Sunghoon went to pick Jake up. He arrived at his house. He rang the doorbell. Jake opened the door.

"Hey Sunghoon! So now that we are gonna go to some places... where will those places be?"

"Won't tell you. It's a surprise."

"Awh, I thought I had you for a second."

"Cmon, stop moping around. Come with me."

They were walking for a few minutes when they arrived at a flower garden.

"How did you know I adore flowers? Are you a psychic or something?"

"Pure luck I suppose."

Silence filled the conversation for a few good seconds until Jake asked a question.

"I have a question.'

"Ask away."

"Why did we go to this place in particular? Do you like flowers or any flower in particular?"

"Moreover wanted to visit this place because of two particular flowers."

"Which ones are they?"

"The Maehwa and the Mugunghwa."

"Why do you want see those flowers?"

"Do you want to really hear the full story?"

"Of course! I have been super curious all day!"

"Fine. I used to be a figure skater. I quit a few months ago though. In those few months I've missed being on the ice, so the Maehwa reminds me of the feeling of being on the ice because the flower is white. The Mugunghwa reminds me of the sun when it goes down. The sky always has a beautiful color when the sun goes down."

"That sounds very nice. Didn't know you could make such detailed descriptions of a few flowers. Also, can you tell me the story of why you quit figure skating?

"Later, we still have plenty places to visit. You need to tone your curiosity down for a bit now."

"Alright, alright! Can we go in now?"

"Of course."

They went in the flower garden. They viewed a few flowers and Sunghoon with full curiosity listened to Jake praising and describing them until they were at the Maehwa and the Mugunghwa. Oddly enough, the two flowers were right next to eachother.

"Are these the flowers you were talking about?"

"Yes they are."

They stood there in pure silence. It wasn't awkward at all though. Jake was very happy seeing Sunghoon viewing the flowers and slightly smiling.

"We should go to the next place now, or we won't have enough time for the special place tonight."

"Already? Don't you want to view these flowers a bit more?"

"It was nice visiting these flowers already. We won't have enough time for the surprise tonight if we stay here any longer."

"Jeez, I thought we've only been here for 10 minutes."

"Ever heard the saying time flies when your having fun?"

"What are you my dad? But, I certainly did have fun though."

"Let's go then."

It was 3pm. They took a taxi and went to an amusement park and played games in an arcade and went on a few rides.

"Hahaha, are you really scared of this ride Sunghoon?"

"I feel like dieing this instant right now because of that ride...."

"Let me know if you need to throw up or something, you certainly look like your about to."

"Thanks for the sarcastic help, I appreciate it..."

"Here, come with me. Let's go take a break on that bench over there."

They walked over to the bench and took a break while Jake was laughing at Sunghoon because of the rides. It was 8pm by now.

"I feel better now. Let's go now."

"To where?"

"The thing you've been asking and waiting for all day."

"I'm still curious though. I'm excited!"

"You won't regret it when you see the view. Let's go."

They walked to a nearby park and went down a little path that led to a forest. They then climbed a small hill.

"Close your eyes, were almost here."

"Alright."

"No peeking."

"I'm not, I swear!"

They walked a bit further and then stopped.

"Open your eyes."

Jake opened his eyes and saw a bright night sky filled with shooting stars. He also saw a bit of the forests landscape and was surrounded by a lot of flowers.

"Wow.. this is mesmerizing. How did you even find this place?"

"I used to go here a lot when I wanted to be alone for a bit."

"You picked a great place. This looks absolutely beautiful. I'm speechless."

"Let's sit down and enjoy the view."

They sat down there and stayed quiet the whole time and viewed the beautiful sky and landscape.

"This will be a moment I will cherish forever and ever, dearly in my heart."
