Plot. Plot. Plot.

One more thing before starting your book. You have the cover and the topic, but what about a plot? Have you thought that out?

You know the title is "Covalent", but why?

Why should you make a story called Covalent if you don't know what it's about?

This is where the thinking and brainstorming comes into play. You need a plot in order to make your book.

To give an idea, you need your main character, their friends, enemies, allies, and what their main goal is.

Then, you make an elevator speech.

"Drake is young scientist who wants to prove that time travel is a thing, but Denali and Raphael aren't so willing to let him be the successful one."

(This doesn't have to be the description, but you can use whatever you want when making a description!

Now that you have your initial plot, you need to figure out what the course of action will be for the story, and that's where scenarios come into play!
