The Halstead's Sister *Discontinued*

Chapter 4

Date: Saturday, September 5th, 2021

Ashley was in her room doing math homework since she forgot to do it yesterday. She was interrupted by Jay saying, "Hey ash, I got called into work. I am going to take you over to Will's house. He isn't there right now but Nat is."

She stopped what she was doing and looked up at Jay and said," When will he get there?"

"I don't know exactly but he said he gets off work around 12pm," He said answering her question. She nodded at him.

At Natalie and Will's house

When Ashley arrived at Will's house she went into her room since she needed to finish her homework. It was about 1 pm when she finished it. She walked out of her room to see that Will was taking a Nap on the couch. She didn't see Nat or Owen anywhere. She walked back into her room. She knew what today was but she wasn't sure if her brothers remembered.

She pulled out her phone and went into the photo album named "Mom🙏🏻❤️" and scrolled through the photos. Once she finished scrolling an idea popped into her head. She was going to sneak out for a little bit and go see her mom's grave. She hasn't been there in a few months due to her being busy. Plus her brother will never know because she will be back before he wakes up.

Ashley walked up to where her mom's grave was and kneeled down in front of it.

"Mom, first I want to say sorry for not coming to see you more often. I have been super busy but a day doesn't go by that I don't think about you. Anyway, here are some updates. I just started my Freshman year of High school with Sophia and Alex. I also tried out for the High school softball team like you and I always talked about and guess what? I made the team and I am one of the main pitchers. I can just imagine how excited you would have been for me to tell you that and the big smile you would have on your face. Oh, also Jay just started working as a detective in the intelligence unit. I am so proud of him for making his dreams come true. I also haven't spoken to dad since the day he was arrested. Even if I wanted to, Jay and Will would never let me see him."

While Ashley was at her mom's grave Owen and Nat arrived home from grocery shopping.

"Hey bud, why don't you go see what Ashley is doing and ask her if she will play with you for a little bit while daddy and I put away the groceries," Nat said to Owen while helping him take his shoes and coat off.

"Ok," Owen said and went running to Ashley's room.

"Hey Will, How was the night shift? Nat asked Will who was putting the bread away in the pantry.

"It was alright. Nothing too exciting happened," He said, walking over to Nat and kissing her on the cheek.

Right at the moment, Owen came running into the kitchen yelling, "Mommy, Daddy."

Both Nat and Will had confused looks on their faces. Will kneeled down in front of Owen and asked, "What's wrong bud?"

"Ashley isn't in her room," Owen said and Will started to worry but Natalie stepped in and said, "Maybe she is in the bathroom. I will go check. Don't freak out just yet."

Nat checked but she wasn't in there and Will started to freak out. He tried calling her but she didn't answer. How in the world did he lose his little sister? He now has to call Jay and Jay was most likely going to kill him.

Jay picked up the phone after about 3 rings and said, "Hey Will, is something wrong?"

Will looked at Natalie for reassurance before saying, "You are going to be mad at me but this isn't my fault."
