The stars were bright tonight.
"Hmmm" Blue said to herself, "good start, but not quiet what I want." She highlighted the sentenced and deleted it. She wanted her beginning to be dramatic.
Blue was sitting in her office, started chapter 1 of her werewolf novel, BloodMoon. She had already planned it all out, before boarding the SKELD, and during her twelve month stay on the SKELD she would be writing her first novel. Then once she got back to Earth, she would (hopefully) publish it.
But first, she needed to start her story.
"Err.." she said to herself, which was a common habit of hers, "maybe I could write 'no one was safe in the forest'? That could imply that something dangerous was in the forest, then I could add some details about why she was so terrifying."
No was safe in the forest. No one could escape her wrath. She was ruthless, cunning, quick- but who was she? No one really knew her origins, besides for her family with she'd brutally murdered five years ago, when her reign of terror first started. No one knew why she had done it, but in her mind it was perfectly justified.
"Hmm, good enough for now, though I'll have to edit it later, of course" she said.
"Of course you'll have to edit it, that's what all good writers do" said a voice from behind her. Blue jumped, whipping around to find Green standing there. He was standing a few feet away, giving her a cheeky grin. "Sorry to scare you, I came in to tell you that we were supposed to report to the Cafeteria. By the way, I didn't know you talked to yourself."
Blue blushed madly and then snapped, "it's normal" before regaining her composure. She turned off her computer so Green couldn't read it, and then dragged Green out of her office, closing the door behind her. "Don't come into my office again."
"Noted" Green said, still grinning.
Blue glared at him.
Two minutes later they emerged into the Cafeteria, where the rest of the crew was waiting.

Yellow sat at a bench, drawing with a blue pencil, while Orange was looking over her shoulder, complimenting her. Red was leaning against the wall, glaring at them for no apparent reason. He was always grumpy. Green, of course, stood next to me, and Purple was typing on a computer. Pink kind of just stood there- not knowing what to do.
As soon as we came in, they all turned to us. Purple slammed her laptop shut, and Yellow put down her pencil. Red stopped glaring for a fraction of a second before resuming his natural glare again.
"What's wrong?" I asked. "Systems seem to be still working so I'm assuming that it's not an Emergency."
"Actually" Purple snapped, "it is."
I turned to Purple, raising an eyebrow. "Care to elaborate?"
"Well," Purple explained, "an unknown substance accidentally got on a small portion of our food, only we don't know how it got there, what it is, or what portion of our good it got on. Since we know nothing about it, or how our bodies might react to it, we can't eat any of our food until the next rocket arrives in one month. So basically, we might starve or get sick and die."
Red nodded. Yellow started to cry. Orange rushed to comfort Yellow as tears streamed down her face. I kind of just stood there- shocked.
"What?" I gasped.
"That's awful!" Green cried.
"We need the next rocket to arrive sooner! We can't go without food for one month!" I said.
"It can't" Purple growled, "NASA needs time to build it, check it, and then load all the food on. That takes at least a month at best, and right now there still on the first check for the rocket. There going to need at the very minimum another three weeks."
"Okay, then" I said, "then we'll check the food before we eat it."
Purple shook her head, "it's undetectable. There's only two ways we could survive. A) We tell NASA about our predicament and we take our ship back to earth and forget the mission or B) we check all the food, find the substance, contain it and find out what's it's made of, but that'll take a couple days to analyze. Either way, it's kind of a lose-lose because we're going to have to go hungry for a few days anyways."
"Okay, then" Green butted in, "let's have a vote."
"Okay" Orange agreed.
"I'm in" Red said.
"Sure" Yellow added.
We all came the center of the room.
"All in favor of plan A, going back home and forgetting the mission, raise your hand" Purple said.
Purple, Red, and Orange raised there hands.
"All in favor of plan B, finding the thing and destroying it, raise your hand."
Me, Green, Yellow, and Pink raised our hands.
"Okay, were staying" Purple announced.
Instantly Red and Orange erupted in protests.
"Were going to die up here!" Orange wailed, breaking into sobs (now Yellow came to comfort him).
"We can't stay here!" Red shouted. "It's dangerous! Were only a week into our mission and it's already going horribly! HELL, we might have to abandon ship already!"
"SHUT UP!" Purple roared, quieting everyone. "Four people voted to stay, so were staying! Now stopping being such a whiner, Red! Now, were all going to the food storage to find the substance."
And with that, she turned around and marched towards the foot storage on the other side of the room.
With nothing else to do, the rest of the crew follow. Red still grumbled about how we were all going to die, but he wasn't yelling like before.
By now Orange had calmed down, and he wasn't sobbing anymore, which was a relief.
We all went into the food storage room, were Purple was already kneeling and started to sort through the food.
"Come on" she snapped, "get working."
