People often Assume that the Irken are a Heartless Species, Cold and Calculating with No desire whatsoever to create Bonds, to Care and to Love.
But there it was, an Irken holding a Baby from another species with such Love and Joy that anyone could almost believe they were Mother and Son.
But the Irken was Crying, his Face nestled in the Baby's Shoulder; the Child brought back so many good and bad memories, the Memories of a Powerful Master forgotten long ago. He was a Kind and Comforting figure to the young Irken, who would often wait for hours on end so he could Hang around the Old Jedi Master.
But so long ago he had passed, from old age, such an Inevitable fate. The Blue-Eyed Alien had shoved to the side his Grief and Forgotten all about the Jedi. But Now, the Child reaching out for him, cooing and giggling was bringing back the Pain and added a new layer of Hurt with the addition of Guilt caused by Forgetting about his Parent, his Everything.
This Baby would be His Everything now, his Happiness, and he would be His Comfort. Even if the Mandalorian didn't want it that way, he would have to like it because Bug wasn't going to let go.
