Chapter Seven

Dipper glanced out the back window of the car, watching as the Destroyer closed in on them. It was massive, with scales as black as coal and eyes that glinted with a fierce red light. Its jaws opened wide, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth, and its roar shook the ground beneath them.

"We need to go faster!" Mabel shouted, gripping the steering wheel tightly.

"I'm trying!" Jackie replied, her foot pressing down on the gas pedal as far as it would go.

Pacifica sat in the backseat, her arms folded across her chest. She couldn't help feeling jealous as she watched Dipper and Jackie interact. They were always laughing and teasing each other, and it made her feel like a third wheel. She had liked Dipper for years, but he had never seemed to notice her in that way.

Suddenly, the car hit a bump, and Pacifica's thoughts were interrupted as she was jolted forward. She let out a yelp, and Dipper turned around to check on her.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his concern evident in his voice.

"I'm fine," Pacifica muttered, trying to hide her embarrassment.

As the car swerved to avoid a blast of fire from the Destroyer's mouth, Pacifica couldn't help but feel like she was being left out. She wanted to be the one sitting next to Dipper, making him laugh, and feeling his protective arm around her.

But Jackie was the one who had that privilege now, and Pacifica's jealousy only grew stronger.

"Can't we do something to stop it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"We're trying," Dipper said, glancing out the window again. "But we need to find its weak spot."

Mabel's eyes widened. "That's it! I remember reading something about the Destroyer's weak spot in a book once."

"What is it?" Jackie asked, her eyes fixed on the road.

"Its heart," Mabel replied. "If we can get to its heart, we can defeat it."

"But how do we get to its heart?" Pacifica asked, trying to keep up with the conversation.

"We have to get inside its body," Dipper said, a determined look on his face.

Pacifica's stomach turned at the thought of entering the monster's body. But she knew they didn't have a choice. They had to stop the Destroyer before it destroyed them.

As they approached the creature, Dipper grabbed a rope and tied it to a nearby tree.

"We're going to swing onto its back," he said, his voice firm. "Then we'll find a way in."

Without waiting for a response, Dipper swung the rope over the car, and it latched onto the Destroyer's back.

"Everyone hold on!" he shouted as he climbed up the rope.

Pacifica took a deep breath and followed suit. As she climbed up the rope, she could feel her heart pounding in her chest. But she knew she had to be brave, for Dipper's sake.

Together, they climbed up the rope, and as they landed on the creature's back, Pacifica felt a surge of adrenaline rush through her.

"Let's do this," she said, determination in her voice.

To be continued.
