Jessy crawled out of the cave the next morning only to be more tired than the day before. The freezing autumn air brushed against her skin like nails. 'i have to find a way out of here.' Jessy thought to herself. But how could she. How would she. The multi-colored leaves crunched under her feat, And the soft whistling of the wind Calmed her mind. But it was short lived. She had the find a way out. Jessy began trying to retrace her steps but the fallen leaves covered the dirt making it impossible to find her tracks. The constant fear of dyeing in the woods pained her mind. Jessy started to walk in random directions hoping of finding a familiar way out of the woods. But there were no trails or roads to follow; and everything looked the same. Nothing but trees and more trees. Jessy remembered a story her father used to tell her about the woods; and how a group of teenagers ventured out into the woods years ago and were all found dead a few days later. Her father would constantly remind her never to go into the woods. But that's exactly what she had done. She was lost in the woods by herself without any way to contact her parents. Jessy kept telling herself that she didn't actually see her mothers body and that her mind was just playing tricks on her. Terrible tricks. Even after telling herself that she imaged it the thought that whoever or whatever killed those kids years ago killed her mother; And now she was next. She is after all the exact same age as the kids who died. Jessy had recently turned 13. But that wasn't the only story about the woods. She remembered a time at school when her friends were talking about a serial killer who lived in the woods in the mid 1800s and that his sprit still haunted the woods to this day. Back then the story's seemed dumb and not interesting. But now that she was in the woods things started to get more and more terrifying to think about. Hours passed and she still hadn't been able to even start to get out of the woods. If she went the right way she would be out of the woods and home in a few hours. If she went the wrong way she would be stuck in the woods for days, maybe even weeks; Or forever! Jessy decided to stay in the same place as long as possible and that maybe someone will find her and be able to bring her back home. Jessy gathered some grass and dirt and put together a little bed inside the cave she slept in. It was going to be her new home until someone came to save her. If that ever happened. Soon enough the black night sky took over the woods and it was time to sleep. Jessy still had no fire or anything to protect herself with from animals but what she had would have to do.
