Mystic, devoted and adventurous, born and raised in Mexico by a single mother. She speaks Spanish but fluid in English. Mystic never knew her father because of her mother would call him, "El hombre de todo los viajes". Growing up, she never understood what it meant and assumes it as a joke. Being la jovencita" she has become, her mother couldn't praise for more. At the age of 20, Mystic found out her mother was ill and refused to have her live alone. She took care of her in the best way possible but her condition was getting worse. One day, Mystic heard her mother throw up in the bathroom and helped her into bed. Immediately, she called the doctors but he was no help.

Mystic: Mama, no ahora mismo

Her mother goes to the shelf to grab a map with markings and gives it to her.

Mystic: What is this for?
Madre: Te quiero viajar a estos lugares.
Mystic: ¿Estás locas? No voy a viajar allí. No sin ti
Madre: Mija
No te me vayas.

Mystic hugs her mother with tears falling and when she saw, her mother wiped them. Mystic packs her suitcase, three weeks worth. For safety, she asks her best friend, Tone, to stay.

Ride to the Airport

When Mystic was 19, her mother bought three tickets to Paraguay, Brazil, and Egypt. Her mother had prayed for this moment, to see her daughter explore the world but due to her illness, she's only able to see of what is meant for her.

Tone stayed overnight to take Mystic to the airport. On the way, she couldn't help but to worry. Tone noticed and tries to cheer her up.

Mystic: Gracias amigo
Tone: How long will you be gone?
Mystic: Three weeks. A week in each country.
Tone: Brazil es muy divertido.
Mystic: ¿Cómo tú sabes?
Tone: ¿No recuerdas? Mi padre es de allí.
Mystic: Lo siento, me dijiste.
Tone: Esta bién.

Tone has always been there for Mystic. As a best friend, brother, and sometimes, a guide but over the years, he developed feelings. Mystic's mother knew but neither told because they thought it was best for her to learn. They arrived to the airport and Mystic grabbed her bags out the car. Before she left, Tone took her by the arm and hugged her. The one thing that she enjoyed more of Tone was his hugs but this specific hug felt more a warm goodbye rather than a safe.
