The closet door opened. Yunlan's jaw instantly dropped, seeing how the clothes were arranged so orderly. From light to dark colour tone and precisely hung three centimetres apart.
"Should I even touch this?" he chuckled and carefully grabbed a shirt. But instantly, something caught his eyes. He quickly shifted the clothes to one side of the rack. "A hidden door."
He hesitated. It would be considered a private invasion, but his nature did not allow him to stop his curiosity, especially when it's related to Shen Wei. He made a decision and pushed the door inside.
The room was almost bare, only containing a full-size mirror and a single wardrobe, which instantly made his adrenalin shuddered off the grid.
He dreaded every step he took forward. Each step doubled his doubt. Each doubt tripled his tenseness, causing all streams of nerves in his body to twitch incessantly. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath and prayed, not for right, but prayed for his judgement to be wrong.
His sweaty hand reached.
The wardrobe door creaked open.
Yunlan's eyes widened, his blood drained, and his body temperature suddenly dropped below zero.
"No-no-no," Yunlan was in disbelief. In denial. Or whatever it was, he got to leave. His legs backed away on their own but only to bump against a rigid figure from behind.
He was about to turn when suddenly he felt a prick on his neck and immediately flinched away, holding his afflicted neck.
His legs began to lose strength as he staggered and tried grasping onto something, but there was nothing. He couldn't hold up and dropped on one knee, fumbling through his pocket, causing his phone to slip out from his grip and kick away from him.
With the remaining energy he had, Yunlan quickly dragged his body to sit against the wall, looking at the soulless face of his perpetrator.
"Xiao...Wei, why-?" Now feeling the effect of the drug travelling through his veins, slowly immobilizing his body.
Shen Wei did not answer. He just stood there coldly staring down at Yunlan with a vacant gaze. So hollow and emotionless.
But a curve began to form at the corner of his lips as he walked towards the open wardrobe.
Shen Wei stood in front of the wardrobe, spread his arms and inhaled whatever splendour that was kept hidden. His eyes began to marvel at a silky, vibrant red dress as he gently ran his slender fingers over it. "She looked elegant in red dresses."
He then grabbed a hairbrush and cautiously combed the wig, not allowing even a strand to fall. "She had beautiful long hair."
He selected a pair of shoes and keenly inspected them. Then furrowed his brows, seeing a spec of dust and started polishing like an obsession.
