CHAPTER 12

Friday- 1 Day Until the match

"Okay. No messing about today i mean it. There will be one group of five and the other the other three groups will be fours. When you guys are in your group i will give yous an activity to do. Now remember who you're playing tomorrow. Our hardest competition. If you want a place on that team you better work your asses off"

Brian has been extremely strict with the group today, there's no messing around for a laugh, there's no long breaks. It's just work, work, work which is completely understandable.

The fabulous four, Liam, Shea, Callum and I get in our group and we genuinely don't mess around, we just wait to be allocated a activity.

The four activities we have to do is, ab workout, outside run, weights and bikes. It is hard core shit.

We get assigned to the outside run which is okay because it's dry but it is a little bit cold. So i put my overhead zipper on and my running shoes and head out the door. Marshall, our fitness coach give us our route so we set off and put effort into it.

"How long have we got left?" Shea pants as we turn a corner

"only 10 minutes"  Liam says running along aside him

Finally we make it back to the stadium after a half an hour long run. We chill for five minutes to let our bodies cool down taking drinks of water. Usually we would do two out of four of the exercises

"one down, one to go" Callum says as the four of us sit on the floor in the changing room

"what do you think we will be doing for our next one will be?"

"ab work out i think" i say splashing my face with water

We all walk out and make our way to the gym and Marshall let's us know we are actually on ab workouts

We make our way to the quiet room and we see Oscar, Bobby, Finn and Murray coming out

"Good luck" mumble to us as we walking inside and they walk out

The four of us look back at them with a worried look on our faces. God only knows what we're getting into

"and hold plank for a minute" Marshall instructs us

This is the ninth time, yes ninth. We have also used the ab wheel, 50 sit ups and crunches, all nine times. I can feel the sweat dripping down my face, '10 seconds to go' i say to myself in my mind

I can just thank god that we have done pitch work already. We did a quick gym sesh earlier but it was all really a warm up. I look at the clock on the wall and it reads 5:20. Brian said if we finish earlier we can get going earlier. This is our last time doing the drills so i'm excited to get in that shower. i stink

"right guys, well done. Go get showers and relax"

The four of us head to our lockers and i get my shower kit out of my bag. I take it through to my changing room and i quickly get in the shower. Washing my hair and body, the good part of this is it's easier in the morning. I can have a little longer in bed since i don't need to have one and i can also just go home and relax

I come out the shower and quickly get changed to my comfortable, dark grey, tight travelling joggers from last season and a basic white cropped shirt and my navy hoodie for this season.

I pack my back which is a lot because i usually just keep a lot of stuff in my locker for that week. I pack my shower kit, pitch bag, stretch stuff, my kits and everything else
