CHAPTER 1

"Ew Jason! Stop it! St-stop it!" Mud was smeared onto Mae's fingers making them look like chocolate sausages.

"Hey you could've prevented that if you didn't call me a jerk." I pouted trying to feign a hurt expression. She reached out to slap me but I avoided it laughing at her.

"You know you're a pain right?" She complained lightly trying to wipe her dainty muddy hands on the back of her yellow lace dress.

"Mae? You know your mom would kill you if she saw that huge stain on your dress right?" She rolled her eyes.

"Obviously I know that." She said in a duh tone. Her eyes sparkled for a moment before descending to reach for a mud puddle. Before I had a moment to retaliate she threw a handful of mud on my shirt.

I froze looking at the hideous mud pile on my clothing.

"And that's why I'll smear some mud on you too. That way I'm not the only one in trouble." She pointed her head up high smiling satisfyingly.

"Well if that's the case, let's see who'll get in more trouble." She shot me a curious look but that soon changed when she saw me heading towards a muddy area near some flowers in the middle of her backyard.

"Don't you dare Xavier. If you do I'l-" Too late. The soil mixture had already slipped out of my hand landing on her face.

I laughed uncontrollably as her cheeks puffed in fury. "AWWW You look so cute Mae." Her features softened and she blushed.

"As cute as an ogre!" I mischeviously added. She shot me a glare, which caused her to chase after me.

I was much taller and stronger than her so when she tried tackling me to the ground, she stood no chance.

"Mae you're 11 and as fragile as my mom's vase. While I'm 13, stronger and much taller. At least try finding another way to potentially murder me."

She huffed. "Oh I'm not aware of the fact that I am 11." Her statement drooled of sarcasm.

"Well I'm sorry SARCASTIC SALLY." I mocked.

She stuck her tongue out at me. "I hate you." I shook my head smiling, with my dimples popping. "I hate you too."

Even though Mae and I shared, "I hate you's" regularly it was most definitely out of pure hate. It was a love-tease relationship.

"Mae! Xavier! Where are you guys?" I heard Mrs.Winchester call out.

Mae and I turned to face each other with our faces showing signs of panic. "Mae she's gonna get angry. Look at our clothing!" I shout-whispered.

"Don't you think I know she will? She's MY mom. I know her better than you do."

"Mae? Xavier?" Mae suddenly reacted by holding my hand in hers running off. I stared at our interlocked hands smiling.
The fact that Mae's hands fit perfectly with mine made me envelop a deep liking to her. A more deeper liking than she had for me.

These few moments made me swoon and so I had been stuck having a crush on Mae Winchester. The most beautiful, green eyed, brown haired girl ever. Thank Goodness Mae's mother and my mother are best friends. I would've never met her.....

Too bad she's changed now.
