Basic summary: Midoriya takes notice to Todoroki beginning to act different. He is avoiding everyone, refuses to talk, and seems all around distant from reality. One evening, Midoriya finds Todoroki in the school's library, and finds out what happened to Todoroki two weeks earlier.

Midoriya settled his books down on top of his desk, listening to Uraraka tell an interesting story that her dad told her when she was a child. By the time she had concluded and Midoriya was going to give his thoughts, the greenette saw his friend, and crush,  Todoroki Shoto walk into the classroom. The boy had a distant look on his face, his tired different colored eyes staring off into nothingness. "Good morning Todoroki!" Midoriya greeted, waving to the other male.

Todoroki glance over and nodded at Midoriya in acknowledgement, continuing to his desk. Midoriya's smile dropped, he was still acting that way. It had begun two weeks ago, actually. Todoroki had become distant from everyone. His friends, his family, even from UA's teachers. Fuyumi, Shoto's older sister, had actually showed up at Izuku's moms house while he was staying with her for Thanksgiving break, asking if he knew if anything had happened to Shoto during school. Of course, Midoriya had no idea what caused the change, and that's what he told Fuyumi.

"How long do you think he'll act like that?" Uraraka questioned, concerned brown eyes darting from Todoroki's direction then back to Midoriya.
"I don't know..hopefully not for much longer."
"Have you talked to him yet?"
"No, I haven't gotten the chance. I can never find him after school, and I hate to admit it but I've been caught up in my studies and really didn't look for him. "

"I've always seen him heading towards the library during lunch, maybe you should check there?" Uraraka suggested with a small shrug.

Midoriya hummed, looking back towards Todoroki. He was reading a book, but the cover was taking off, leaving only a plain black leather. He had been reading that book nonstop these last few days. It made Izuku wonder what was so special about that particular book that made Todoroki read and re-read it so much. "Yeah," Midoriya agreed to the
suggestion, "I'll check the library. It's always so quiet there, it might be a calming place for him."

Midoriya heaved open the heavy doors, walking into the silent library. Not a single soul ever seemed to be in here. No one used the library unless it was absolutely needed for a project. In fact, it got to the point where the library lights were never turned on. So, the entire room was nearly pitch black, but it wasn't dark enough to where Midoriya couldn't see what was in the room. The most colors he was seeing was an aura of deep blues and blacks.

The green haired male couldn't seem to be find anyone in the room at first, and just as he was about to leave, he saw Todoroki at the very back of the room, sitting on a cushioned chair next to a small bookshelf, reading the same black leather cover book he had been for days. On top of the bookcase was a small lamp that was turned on, its light giving off a yellowish-orange glow.

"Oh! There you are!" Midoriya sighed with relief, walking over quickly to where his friend was seated, "I've been looking everywhere for you. Uraraka said you might be here. And I kinda figured that too, since it's so quiet." Todoroki didn't respond, continuing to read his book. "Hey, are you okay?" Midoriya asked as he saw a look of fascination blended with horror in Shoto's eyes as he read the pages of his book, the tips of his hot and cold fingers gripping the book so tightly they turned pale. The dark blue aura of the room seemed to accent the dark sunken in circled around Todoroki's eyes.
