The day was certainly a busy one, but I guess it has to be since it's my wedding.

It was different from what a normal wedding would have been like since there were killers here, and this was a big, extravagant wedding.

It was a very large building, but they kept insisting I shouldn't have to walk upstairs to put my wedding dress on.

Lorenzo is what I mean by they, but I appreciate their help.

I just finished putting the dress on and was shocked when I saw the costs of this wedding.

Apparently, it was 20 million because people got to stay at this hotel for the weekend with free room service, but I think Lorenzo is wealthy enough to afford that.

In the beginning, Alya was suspicious of my fancy lifestyle, but after she got a free trip to Hawaii with a free stay at a hotel, she no longer questioned it.

Apparently, a ploy to silence her if anything illegal happens at the wedding.

"You knew?" I asked my mom when she didn't seem surprised seeing my father surrounded by money.

She replied, "Do you remember that time he came home drunk?" I remember that as my worst childhood memory.

"He came home drunk everyday mom, and I had to take care of him" I remember that so vividly, almost like it was a dream.

"I know, but the time when he cracked your head open?"

"Yeah, he was constantly apologizing after that like he had not done it before," I said remembering the memory of him coming home drunk and hitting my mother.

Although he did not hit me as violently before that, I have had similar experiences.

In order to protect her, like any child, I jumped on top of her and took the beating because she would have surely been dead by then.

When she was fixing my hair, she said, "He somehow managed to pay the hospital bills"

"Are you not angry seeing him here? or are you afraid he will hurt you?" I asked, concerned for her well-being because she has gone through a lot and I think she feels she has to blame herself when I know it wasn't her fault.

"Well for one, I'm not angry, just annoyed, and for two, your groom has put up a warning," she replied.

"What kind of warning?"

"If you harm anyone that Fawn cares about and who she protects, you will die," she read on her phone, quoting Lorenzo.

"Looks like your groom cares for you but just be careful" she replied, making me smile.

Lorenzo would do that for me?

"I cannot believe you're taking this so well," I replied wondering if I had done a worse job at accepting it than she had.

"Since I know I cannot help you, and since you cannot help yourself either, it is only natural that I accept the situation"

As I nodded my agreement, I realized that this was going to be my life going forward.

It was my time to walk down the aisle, and I appreciated my father's respect for letting my mother walk me.

Ultimately, he had no say in either outcome, seeing as I am the one who has the authority to order his death.

In addition, my mother was my hero and she deserved this more than he did.

During our walk down the aisle, Lorenzo's eyes glistened with shock and admiration.

It wasn't like he looked at me like I was the ugliest thing on the planet or that he regretted it.

He just looked at me.

As I was close to him, I stopped, kissed my mother's cheek as she left me beside him.

I could see that his smile was still present despite his attempt to hide it.

He had beauty in his darkness.

Even if he hides it under his cruel nature it still shone so brightly and I planned on exposing it.

(Lorenzo's POV)

She finally came down the aisle with the dress hanging onto her body like it was meant to be there.

Fuck, she was gorgeous.

This moment was almost too good to waste, and I almost screamed for everyone to leave so I could savor it alone with her.

I hated that she was changing me.

The only person not afraid of me here was her.

Since I first saw her, I knew...

She had darkness in her beauty.

Even if she hides it under her caring nature it still shined so brightly and I planned on exposing it.

(Fawn's POV)

In the aftermath of the ceremony, I changed into a black dress with a slit extending up to my thigh.

Lorenzo stood there talking to some people while watching me at all times as everyone danced and laughed.

As a result of the last ball I attended with him and being sexually assaulted, he can't let me out of his sight.

When Arlo asked me to dance, I said yes, but it wasn't a formal father-daughter dance since he's not my father.

DNA doesn't make a family.

Some people watched us dancing slowly, but they didn't stop dancing because they knew my hostility towards Arlo.

"I understand you're mad at me and have every right to be. I'm not rushing you to forgive me; I simply want you to know that I love you even if you don't feel the same" This was the most sincere apology he ever made to me.

As I was about to reply, he interrupted me.

"I'm truly sorry Fawn," he said.

As the first person to break my heart and hurt me the most, I am standing here before him with utter shock.

My words were cut off by Lorenzo before I had the opportunity to say anything and I was grateful for that because I wasn't sure exactly what to say.

He probably knew that.

He twirled me like a professional dancer as he danced with me.

"How are you so good at this?" I asked as he spun me across the room until it was just us dancing and everyone clapping while watching us dance.

"I practiced," he said, twirling me around again before pulling me into him.

"For you"

My heart fluttered at those words.

I slowly allowed his lips to touch mine as he cupped my face in his hands and pulled me in.

My arms were wrapped around his neck as he placed his hands on my waist, pulling me into him and lifting me off the ground.

He sets me down and our eyes stay closed for a few moments while breathing in deeply and all we could hear were applauds but it's like they weren't even there and it was just the two of us saving this moment.

A few seconds after he opened his eyes, I opened mine.

"Careful" I warned "You might fall for me"

"Never" he replied.
