-Elizabeth's POV-
I'm so nervous... the ball will start soon, in just a hour... All races and kingdom's leaders will be there. All kings, queens and heirs... and I have to stand and talk in front of everyone...
"Welcome everyone, this evening- no, that sounds wrong. It doesn't sound like me... it doesn't sound formal enough..."
"Welcome to our kingdom, I'm princess Elizabeth and heir- no, no, no, that's too formal!" I groaned as I fell onto my bed. My speech is supposed to be at least a half hour long...
A knock interrupted me, making me sigh and out up a smile before I went to open.
"Eldest prince, what are you doing here? Is it anything you need?" I asked. He gave a small smile, looking away as he said "A-Actually, I came to see if you was okay... you sound really stressed inside there..."
"Oh, I-I'm fine, thank you for asking." I spoke, giving the biggest smile I could. He just stared at me, quietly.
"Your smile is fake... is something wrong?" He asked, shocking me a bit. No one has ever been able to tell if it was fake or not before...
He stared me in the eyes, making me have a hard time to say that I'm fine.
"Okay... I actually need help..." I sighed, letting him into the room. He gave me a small smile, walking inside as I closed the door after him.
"What do you need help with?" He asked as he looked around the room. I went over to the bed, sitting down, making him do the same.
"Well, I have to hold a speech at the ball and I'm a nervous wreck and don't know what to say..." I mumbled. He took my hands in his, saying "It will be fine, the speech will be amazing whatever you say. Everyone is already blessed to hear your beautiful voice."
I blushed, looking away from him to not see.
"S-since when did y-you like to flirt?" I asked, pulling my hands out of his. He took away his hands too right afterwards, saying "I-I didn't m-mean to flirt with y-you or anything. I-I just said the truth."
I smiled, looking back at him.
"You are really sweet, eldest prince." I whispered and once again, we locked eyes. His black, onyx eyes everyone is scared of. Not really thinking about it, I slowly stretched my hands towards his face, them landing on the sides of his mask.
I was about to pull it off from his face when his hands went on top of mine, making me let go of the mask.
"S-sorry, I-I didn't mean too b-"
"I should go... I will see you at the ball..." He replied before he quickly left, making me fall back into the bed. I just screwed up... I hope he doesn't hate me, I didn't mean to pray in his business or anything...
I would really like to see his face though...
My hand flew to my chest, feeling my fast heartbeat. He's giving me this warm feeling... it's the best I ever felt before...
I looked at the clock, seeing it was nearly time for the ball.
I'm so nervous... It's not only because of the speech now, but I'm worried the eldest prince is angry with me... I really hope he isn't...
. . . . .
I gave a curtsy to everyone who arrived, standing beside my mother.
"Welcome giant king Drole, queen Matrona and princess Diane." Mother said and gave a small curtsy to them, making me follow in her lead and do the same.
"Welcome." I said. They all nodded, Queen Matrona and King Drole bowing while princess Diane also made a curtsy.
Once they walked in where all the other guests were, two butlers closed the door.
