-Diane's POV-

I looked at the first demon prince and princess Elizabeth at the breakfast.

The Demon king and Supreme deity was discussing their leave as we all ate. All heirs was quiet, eating, but both the eldest prince and princess Elizabeth was acting strange.

They would make eyecontact a second before looking down or away. As the Demon King and Supreme deity took their leave from breakfast, I immediately asked "What's happening?"

Everyone looked at me as King asked "Diane? What are you talking about?"

"You two!" I said, pointing at princess Elizabeth and the eldest demon prince before continuing "Why are you acting so strange?!"

"Pardon me?" The eldest asked.

"You two are staring at each other every other second and then avoid eye contact! Why are you acting like that?!"

"Princess Diane, we are sitting in front of each other, of course we will make eye contact then and then." Princess Elizabeth said, making me say "I know it's more than that! What's going on?!"

"Diane, calm down. I have no idea what you are talking about and no one else seems to have either." King said, making me sigh.

"Sorry for jumping into conclusions and putting my nose into your lives. I didn't mean to pray." I apologised, not wanting to be on their bad sides. After all, princess Elizabeth is the most powerful heir there is while the demon princes always could be as horrible as the rumours said.

. . . . .

Me and princess Elizabeth was in the library, talking to each other.

She was really nice and we had some things in common.

"Is this book good? Have you read it?" I asked, showing her a book.

"It's a great love story if you are into that, but otherwise, it's not that great. It's just love and drama."

"Oh, that sounds great! I love love stories!"

"That's nice, I'm not really into that stuff..."

"What are you into then?"

"I love adventures, especially with princes and princesses and knights and dragons... those are just so... so exciting and lovely."

"That's a bit too classic for my style... I feel like it's enough already being a heir to the throne, I don't want to be reminded of it..." I replied, sitting down in  the couch once again.

She nodded, saying "It's annoying being a princess sometimes... but I like it... I just don't like standing in front of lot of people without being properly prepared."

I agreed, asking "So if you don't mind me asking, what's between you and the first demon prince?"

I saw small blush on her cheeks as she said "Nothing, we are just acquaintances. Nothing more "

"You two says to know each other less and less, but act like you are in love with each other. At least what I have seen." I spoke, looking at her as she blushed madly and looked down at her knees.

"W-We are not... I don't really k-know him..."

"I found you two in b-" I cut myself off when the door to the library opened and two quite similar voices was heard.

They become quiet as the two demon princes saw us. Princess Elizabeth, who looked behind to see who it was, and the eldest prince stared at each other a second.

I just knew the youngest prince also noticed that before the they broke contact and avoided the other's gaze.

"Excuse us for our interruptions, we will soon be on our way out again." The second prince replied as they walked to some shelves.

Princess Elizabeth stood up with her book, walking away, making me ask her "Where are you going?"

"I would like some alone time, thank you." She replied, did a small curtsy and left. I was left in silence and turned to read my book, sinking into my seat.

A couple steps was heard and a little deeper voice asked "Are we alone?"

"I don't see anyone here... I think they both left..." I heard a less deep, but much more sad voice say.

"Why are we even at this section of books? You never liked these kind of stories before."

"Elizabeth told me she liked these, she said they were romantic in a way she likes." The sad voice said...

"When was that? You rarely have time with each other where you actually can be with each other alone with all her princess duties."

"The night of the ball... before we went to sleep. We talked and I got to know her."

"The night you had sex? You didn't-"

I felt blush creep up on my cheeks as I heard them talking. They talk so shamelessly.

"Yeah, but don't worry, I didn't tell her anything about me... or us or... anything..." The voice trailed off. A sigh of relief was let out before the voice to it said "You should forget about her. You will become king soon, focus on that instead."

"It's easy for you to say. You will be with the one you love and doesn't need to worry about anything. I will nearly never be able to meet Elizabeth again... I... I just want her to love me back..."

Their footsteps could be heard as they walked away. I made sure to hide myself as the deep voice one again replied "The sooner you forget about it, the better. If father ever got to know you showed he..."

The voices became harder to hear as they walked away.

So... one of the princes is in love with Elizabeth... and will be king... I think it is the eldest, but I'm not sure...

Also, why can't they talk about themselves to anyone? If they love Elizabeth, they should tell her about their lives, shouldn't they?

Lastly, what is it their father can't know about? Why can't he know?

I have to get more information about them...
