I guess my brain stopped thinking for a minute there and I went into overdrive. My reflexes shifted once my head was throbbing and on my first day, I stabbed someone. Not the ideal school experience, so to speak. Luckily, it would be an easy clean up because of the white tile. So, I kicked back in a seat.
Leo looked at me strangely, whilst he was on the floor clutching his wound. "What are you doing?"
"I'm waiting for you to die so I can clean up."
He looked down at his stomach and then back at me. "I'm not going to die."
          I raised an eyebrow.
"And I don't see why you had to stab me either, I didn't do anything wrong."
          "No you didn't it's just that I don't trust you," I said.
          "With what? Your eyes?"
          "Yeah."
"To be honest I'm not surprised," he claimed. "There's a hell lot of weird stuff here."
"Aren't you supposed to be dying?"
"No," he said, rolling up the bottom of his shirt. Underneath, no mark was there, no blood, only the rip in his shirt. He grinned at me.
I raised an eyebrow. "Is there something you have to tell me?"
"To be honest, I'd like an explanation of why you decided to momentarily inconvenience  me... Kami...."
I leaned back farther in my chair. "Fine," I sighed. "I didn't want you to find out that I was a demon."
His face remained stoic. "A demon?"
          "Well... half spirit too...."
He smiled with delight, sitting with his legs crossed. "Well that does explain why you stabbed me, but, do you just like stab people whenever?"
"Look it isn't a normal thing okay, usually I'd manipulate their memory but I panicked," I told him.
"Can't you control your eye shit?"
"Look it happens when I sense danger or another spirit. I'm getting colored contacts soon."
"Sick," he said, standing up and sitting across from me.
"Now what about you," I asked.
          "About me being immortal?"
          "Yeah."
"Yeh well I'm also half spirit, but it was a genetic thing that passed down every four generations. It just so happened to be me," he said casually.
          "Which kind of immortality?"
"Class D. The one where you're invincible until 100 years old, and then it all comes back to you," he said, running a hand through his hair.
"Yeah I know, I'm not stupid."
          "Well I mean..."
"How did you find out?" I interrupted.
          His face fell.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," I said.
"I may as well," he sighed. "When I was like twelve I tried to kill myself."
          I raised my eyebrows.
"It's nothing big, I have depression so it was the only thing I was thinking about when I was that age," he said casually. "I tried like, six times or so and when it didn't work I found some book in my moms room, because she loves studying mythology, and I read about it. Well at least then I thought it was just some kind of bad luck but hey, you're here so..."
I didn't quite know how to reply to what he said. "Are... are you okay?"
He laughed. "Sure, like I've been dead inside for my whole life," he said, shrugging sarcastically.
          "Oh..."
"I haven't told anyone though, I was afraid no one would believe me, so I just kinda acted like everything was alright and now, I'm here."
"So none of your girlfriends have known?"
He looked at me funny. "How do you know about my girlfriends?"
I laughed uncomfortably. "I was talking to some girls that had a one sided love-hate relationship with you."
          "Not surprised."
"I bet," I said. It shocked me that this boy is popular, he can't be taller than 5'5". And, I've never met someone with such a rotten personality. "Leo, do you have a sibling? You look familiar," I suddenly said.
"Yeah I have an older brother, a little sister, and a twin."
I sighed. "Oh god there's two of you..."
"Hey I didn't do anything wrong," he said again.
          "I know you didn't-"
"So anyway, why are you here if you're like some spirit?"
          "To... assassinate someone..."
He leaned forward intently. "Assassinate? Damn."
"More or less... mass assassination of a gang. Probably the cause of all the 'weird shit' here."
"Oh there's more than that," he said, "the whole town is weird. Everyone at Nishiko is slightly crazy."
"Oh yeah? Even you?" I joked.
"Well... I am mentally disabled so you could say so."
          "I see."
"Hey Kami I have a question," he said.
          I leaned back. "Yeah?"
"Are we friends now? Because you stabbed me?"
          "No."
He looked right into my eyes. "Kami, I believe stabbing someone in the abdomen is the ultimate sign of friendship, right?"
          "I don't like your tone."
He cleared his throat and in a shrill tone he sang, "How about now??!!"
"Stop. Look I gotta go and unpack everything," I said, getting up.
"You know, if you give my your address, my mom will come over with cookies and help you," he said.
          "No."
"Fine. See you tomorrow." He said, grabbing his backpack and standing up. "Oh, you should probably clean the floor," he said, hinting to the almost dry blood stain.
