A/N: I have used this famous Qawwali in my write-up. There are many renditions and versions of this Qawwali, but the original Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's is simply the best! Most soulful...and most amazing. It's a 16 minutes long piece, but I urge you all to listen to it before reading on. It will strike you more and the words will seep in deeper then.

For translations, I used this link: https://surstreet.wordpress.com/2010/08/01/tumhein-dillagi-bhool-jani-pare-gi-english-translation/

I have changed some words in the translations and have changed the order of stanzas to fit my narration better.

I hope you all enjoy it!

Do let me know about your views, please... They make me so happy!

Love,

Ayesha

-------------------------

He was trying to hold her hand...but he couldn't...

Before his eyes, she vanished when a high tide engulfed her.

He wanted to yell her name... His soul was screaming for her... but he couldn't do anything as another high tide hit him hard, making him lose his balance against the merciless sea...and then suddenly everything went blank...

He didn't know whether it was a sob or a desperate prayer, but the last word that he wanted to say but couldn't was "Bondita."

------

It was around 10 PM and the Dargaah was full of people from all around. The Qawwals ( Qawwali Singers) had also come and soon, the Mehfil-e-Qawwali was to begin.

Molana Nizaamuddin had given food to Bondita. While Sultan Baba was taking care of Batuk who was at a little distance with his face still covered with his stole.

Bondita hadn't been able to eat for the past 24 hours as she kept throwing up whenever she tried to eat something. Besides, she had been so worried that she didn't even feel like eating anything.

But when Molana Nizaamuddin brought food for her, she didn't know how her appetite suddenly showed up, and without puking, she managed to heartily eat everything that was on her plate.

Once she was done, she thanked Molana Nizaamuddin and he just put his hand on her head and said,

"Sab accha hoga beti... Mien aaj Mehfil ke baad dua kerun ga tumhari aur tumhare iss bacchay ki salamti ke liye."

As Bondita's mouth dropped open in astonishment, Molana Nizaam had already gone.

Confused, she tried to recall if she had told him about her pregnancy. But she hadn't!

Then how did he know!

Her heartbeats accelerated and she looked around nervously.

Yeh kaisi jagha hai?

Yeh kon loag hai?

She wondered, but then she composed herself as she recalled how kind Molana Nizaam had been to her. When she remembered everything he had told her, her heartbeats settled at a much normal pace because she understood that clearly, Molana Nizaam was spiritually very strong and had knowledge of things that were unseen and hidden too.

If there was anyone else in her place, they probably would have been a little afraid of the mystery and intrigue of this place, but she wasn't scared.

On the contrary, she strangely felt so much at peace...as if her heart had found what it had been looking for.

Only that it was just a feeling, as her mind mercilessly reminded her that her Pati Babu was still missing and she had come to a dead-end with his search mission too. The thought pained her heart so much and she gasped as if someone had sprinkled salt on her open wounds. Her eyes filled with helpless tears once again but she tried to bite back her sobs and looked around.
