Once jack had cleared all of his papers from the boardroom and left, he walked slowly down the grand hallway of the offices. He didn't hate his job, in fact, jack loved his life, he wouldn't change it for anything else. It was just that some days were more of a drag than others. And today was one of those days. Jack sighed in relief as he felt a rush of cold air sweep over him as he drew closer to the exit. His hair blew gently and he found himself marveling the weather outside. Storm clouds circled and yet jack still felt as happy as he possibly could. He loved the weather, it fascinated him more than you could believe. The way clouds could morph and form different shapes and yet that was only caused by certain temperature drops and different temperature patterns.
He stepped out of the turn styles that allowed employees into the office block and placed one foot onto the concrete of the sidewalk, a sigh of relief escaping his lips as he drank in the cool atmosphere. He stood aimlessly for a little while before he decided the best thing to do next would be to go home and crash on the old couch he owned in front of the TV. That was his plan, until something neither of the two people expected to happen. Jack was knocked over by a figure who had been running seconds before, only resulting in an explosion of light and a hissing sound, like the sound of hot metal. When he tried to stand up and apologise to the guy sat on top of him face down on his chest, jack realised he couldn't move. It was as if a tether or rope had bound the two together and jack couldn't quite break the bonds. "Hey dude, can you stand up?" Jack asked trying to encourage the man to get up instead. The other man groaned before attempting to sit up, only having his neck yanked back down.
"Fuck off!" The man yelled as he tried again and again, only resulting in his neck being thrown back to the chest of jack. "Fucking stupid locket. Damn you." That's when jack finally clicked. The locket. He reached down to his chain and pulled at it to reveal the pendant that used to hang off of it. "Could you not do that?" The guy growled. Jack apologised but continued to examine the pendant. The two gold half heart shapes had in fact fused into one, leaving jack spell bound at the surprise. A little seam of metal had been left behind to show the attachment of both lockets and the way in which they had bonded. But both chains still hung from where they would originally. Jack smiled at the locket before examining the man a little closer and smiled at that too. The messy guy in a torn set of clothes and brown hair lying on top of him was his one and only. His answer to everything. His other half. And jack couldn't be happier. Sure he expected a woman as most men do, but a man, and one as good as the one on top of him, who would pass that opportunity? Jack was thrilled.
Jack pulled the necklace chain over his head and let it drop to his chest to allow the man to get up. The thing about the fusion of the locket was, now it was fused, you still couldn't get rid of it, but it would always bring you back to each other in the end, no matter who has it. Both lovers will always find each other, even if they ran away to a different country, the locket always finds a way of reuniting, and quite quickly at that. Jack once had a friend who didn't like her other half, and so she ran away to Mexico, only to find her other half, who had lived in Texas, in her hotel room in Mexico that night. He didn't know how he got there and nor did she. Thankfully for her, they fell in love in the end, and now they are married with kids. So jack didn't have to worry about losing his mystery guy forever. "You can stand up now." Jack offered, and the guy did. He stood up and helped jack up too before looking him over.
"You ain't half bad stripe." The man stated in a thick American accent that sounded as if it was from Maryland. It took jack a minute to realise where the nickname had come from before he remembered the dyed blue stripe on the left half of his hair. "Shame I'm not looking for anyone." The guy waved his hand in dismissal and began to walk away. Jack couldn't do anything but watch, before he found the words to call for him back.
"W..wait!" Jack shouted. The man stopped and spun on the spot, before walking back slowly and almost slyly.
"Yes stripe?" He smirked.
