Anna is Queen Elsa's sister who was lonely growing up. She was struck by Elsa's magic twice and almost died the second time by freezing. The only way to stop it was an act of true love and instead of kissing Kristoff, she stepped in front of Elsa when she was going to be stabbed and was cured.
