"How was school?" My dad asked from across the kitchen table.
"Met a girl named Pearl," I said.
"Is she nice?" My mom asked from beside my father.
"Enough," I replied, "We talked."
"Cool," my father said, "How bout you Violet?"
Violet sat beside me, "I met a girl named Sage, she's real funny. We said we were BFFs and she invited me to her house tomorrow," she smiled.
"That's awesome," my mom said, "Peyton?"
Peyton sat on the corner of the table, "I met a boy named Jon. He said I was pretty and told me that I should be his girlfriend."
"Oh my goodness," my father said, "Not on my watch," he laughed.
Violet smiled, "Whatcha say?"
"I said that he'd better ask me in a week cuz by then, all the boys who liked me would ask me out and maybe one would be cuter than him. I didn't say that part though."
My mother laughed, my father kept a straight, crooked smile, which is what he usually did.
I pushed around my corn on my plate and though, did Melvin like me? Today he kept staring at me, when he was reading those love poems out loud. Did I like him back? Hmmm...
"Aaron?" My mother asked, "Was your day at school awesome like your older sisters'?"
Aaron smiled, "Well, I met this boy who showed me a magic trick. He pulled a table cloth out from under plates and cups and forks and all those other kitchen stuff. It was cool, let me show you!"
Before he could attempt his magic, my mother told him that his magic wasn't wanted at the dinner table.
I walked up to my green room, which I was starting to get used to. It wasn't a huge room, it was slightly small, but very cozy.
I jumped into my bed, even though it was only a little after six in the evening.
I wanted to see his face again, the muscular blonde man who looked a lot like Melvin, to tell me how beautiful I was.
Then, a pebble knocked on my window. At first I ignored it, until it was continuous.
I got up and looked out of the window to see Melvin, who was throwing pebbles on my window.
"Hey, Melvin," I smiled girlishly, "What a surprise."
"I want to talk to you," he said, "And I need to be closer to you."
He jumped onto the branches of the tree that stood directly beside my window on the third story of the four.
Then, he was standing next to me, in my green bedroom.
"Cassidy, I have a crush on you. It was eating me up inside for a couple days now, ever since I saw you the first day. When I saw Russell trying to bite you, I wanted him to bite me instead. I would've done anything to protect you at that time, anytime."
I looked at him, my eyes huge, I felt myself blushing.
"And I could handle it if you don't feel the same way about me. I actually can't but, you know, gotta be a big boy sometimes," He laughed, "I just needed to get that off my chest."
I smiled, "I like you, Melvin, it's just I just met you. What if you're a psychopathic killer?"
He laughed, "Then, I'd know you deserved somebody better than me and let you go."
He put his hands on my face, and pulled my face close to his.
"I really, really like you, Cass, it's been eating me up inside. Every moment of everyday you are in my head. Even my dreams at night."
I smiled, "Well, I'm not gonna lie, I've been having dreams too."
"It means something, don't you think so?" He said, his eyes big and pale blue, "Describe your dream. What were we doing?"
I looked at him, "Nothing really. Kind of just standing and looking sexy, you know."
He laughed, "Mine were a little more, you know..."
I laughed, "Wow, then I know what that dream meant. You want to... You know..."
"Do you think we can," he gulped, "Make my dreams come true?"
I backed up, "Uh, I don't think so. I'm flattered, though."
"Then a kiss?" Without waiting for me to answer, he pulled me closer, and touched our lips together.
Time went on, then I stopped, "My family's downstairs. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Are you free Friday night? I have two tickets to see The Notebook." He held up the tickets.
I smiled, "Sure. Don't tell Kyra though. I beg you."
"Of course not," He jumped onto a flag branch of the tree and started making his way down, "See you tomorrow. And, by the way, I'm happy I got that out of my chest."
I laughed, "Me too, bye."

The night was quiet.
No one was awake, and the sounds of snores flooded the quiet hallway.
The clock said 3:45 AM, but to me it felt later.
I had the dream again; We did what Melvin wanted us to do last night. It was so real, but fake at the same time. Again, the surroundings looked photoshopped, with a white stream of light around us.
I walked up a flight of stairs to my sister Violet's bedroom.
"Cassidy?" She said, "I thought I was the only one awake."
"As did I," I said with a chuckle, "I just figured I'd check my sister's bedroom to check."
"I had a strange dream," Violet said, "I don't know why but it had you and some blonde dude in it. I saw things I shouldn't of."
I gasped, "What?"
"Maybe it wasn't a dream. It felt all too real to be. I walked in your room at like, eleven or so, and I saw it. You guys were kissing. I was in the doorway the hall time. I hoped I was dreaming."
I looked at her, "Can you keep a secret?" She nodded, "That wasn't a dream. That boy told me how he felt about me and that just came up."
She smiled. She was the only one that I could trust out of my family. I couldn't even tell Peyton, she'd blab to mom as soon as I was done telling her. Aaron would scream it for everyone to hear. Mom wouldn't leave me alone about it. My father would practically lock me in my room forever. Violet just turned over and fell asleep.
I slept on her floor, until morning.
