"How long do you plan on fighting back, my daughter?" the Demon King growls as he raises his massive sword in the air, eyes gleaming with hatred.
"For as long as I can, old man," I growl back and swiftly leap into the air when his weapon hits the ground below, cracking it in the process. "If your original body is still here in Purgatory, that means my older brother still hasn't absorbed all of the Commandments. Which also means that you can't fully join with my body yet and go to the other world."
Good. This gives me more time to find Kilia and actually make sure that this damn prophecy is awakened.
Where are you Kilia? I speak to the ancient scythe in my head.
I have no clue I'm afraid, (Y/n), Kilia answers somberly. Your father has hidden me and I myself can't see where I am.
Then this means I have another problem to deal with; not only do I need to try and get away from my father, but I also need to find the ancient scythe at the same time.
But Purgatory is so damn big. How the hell will I find her? This could take forever.
"I am the future Queen of the Demon race," I yell at the ancient being I am fighting as I jump onto one of the large cliffs and look down at him. "You said so yourself; your reign has come to an end. Lay down your weapon and I will allow you to live here in Purgatory for the rest of your days."
"You have no idea what will happen when the age of the Gods comes to an end," the Demon King says in a very low voice as he draws his weapon to his side. "A time of chaos will fall upon you—"
"Then so be it," I cut in sharply and then raise a finger in his direction. "You may be a King, but that does not allow you to decide the future of all races."
"I thought you would understand," my father says in a quieter voice. "But it seems I was obviously wrong."
"I am not a God," I murmur as I slowly bring my hand down. "Even if I am destined to change everything for all the races, I would never view myself as one. So sorry to disappoint you. I'm afraid I'll never understand your obsession with the Holy War."
"You insolent child," the Demon King snarls and when he says this, something snaps inside me.
"I am not a child," I say in an eerie voice. "I am over 3,000 years old so for you to even dismiss this crucial fact is something I find highly amusing. Except my burning contempt for you overpowers that. After everything I have done these past few months, do you really think these are the actions of a child?"
"A child who is simply throwing a tantrum," is the answer I get. "You want to put up a show just so that you can be different to the other Demons—"
A mad laugh escapes my lips as I run a hand through my hair. "You were the one who drilled it into my head every single day that I was different, something abnormal, something unnatural. Now you have the nerve to tell me that I was the one who turned Princess (Y/n) of the Demon race into a monster?"
