A/N: Howdy hey whores, I'm thriving and not vibing at the moment but hey, I'm back...ish. Anygay, here's my Theatre 1 Midterm. We were assigned to do a 5-paragraph essay and choose a topic. The topic I chose was: If you had to make a choice between performing arts and sports, what would you choose and why wouldn't you choose the other.

Making the choice to pick between preforming arts and sports is hard, especially if one has done a combination of both throughout their lifetime. If I was told to choose one over the other because it was a life or death situation; I would choose performing arts because it allows me to express myself in ways that sports do not, allows me to make lifelong bonds, and lets me tell people elaborate stories not in fear of being judged. Although sports have its perks with benefitting exercise and helping a person with their health, there are multiple reasons as to why preforming arts is a better choice.

Performing arts is a was for people to express themselves in ways that sports couldn't do for them. Acting, singing, dancing, tech, lighting, costume design, makeup design, hair design, and set design are different areas in performing arts that people interact with and are within other's comfort zone. Sports don't have those and some of the positions or sports that people are in make them unhappy. Performing arts has multiple jobs and areas of engagement make others content and comfortable because they are in their area of expertise.

The performing arts also creates life-long bonds, as I have experienced. The people within the performing arts community are very determined and becoming friends with one, or multiple, is a gift because not only are you creating a strong personal bond, but you are also creating a strong professional bond as well. In sports, teammates only consider themselves as teammates and they always have issues between each other.
