Getting back Cookie

Right now I was about to set foot out of the airport. My vacation was awesome and really stress relieving but I'm back and I want my dog. I don't know where she is but I'm going to find her, she can't survive alone which is also what scares me. As soon as we got home I got in my car and took off roaming the streets of Chicago which can be very dangerous at night but beautiful to. I couldn't find Cookie all night, I searched for weeks and couldn't find her, checked every dog pound. That was until my best friend Chris called and told me he saw Cookie with some high schooler at the vets, so he asked her about it Cookie's been staying there and is very healthy and protected. I found out the name of the vets office and headed towards it with all evidence to prove Cookie was mine. Once I got there I walked in and smiled at the nice lady at the counter. "Hi I found out my missing dog was here goes by the name Cookie" I said and the lady's eyes lit up and she smiled. "Ah Cookie one of our workers Melanie found her she's out back I'll walk you there and Cookie's with her" the lady said and I smiled happily following her. As soon as I walked out I saw Cookie and called out to her and she ran right to me. The girl whom I'm guessing was the one Chris saw walked over shyly. "Hi I'm Melanie " she smiled sticking her hand out. I shook it with a smile and thanked her for taking care of Cookie. "It was no problem I found her tied to train tracks so someone got her before I did but she didn't have any damage. I'm just glad shes okay" Melanie smiled. "Me to i'm Jack by the way" I said. We talked for a bit and I found out she goes to the same high school I go to. She turned out to be pretty cool so we traded numbers since she also had to come over once a month for house visits to make sure Cookie is okay (which I appreciate) . Then I was headed home happy I finally got back my dog.
