Fate. You never know what surprises are in store for you...
...A bigger surprise is when two fates are intertwined.
It was morning in Vale on the weekend. While most of the students were enjoying themselves, others were undergoing intense training.
There was the Heylin...
[Vale: Jaune's Apartment #2]
Jaune was in his living room, playing a videogame: "KnightStorm 7: Blood Oath."
Next to him was a stack of games:
"Monster Slayer 6."
"Dark Chronicles 3: Wicked Endings."
"Battle of the Sea 4."
"Dungeon Crawl 2."
"Sinister Forest 8."
"Devious Desert 3."
Soon, Jaune delivered the finishing blow to the boss.
"You Win!" A voice from the game cheered.
Soon, a global leaderboard appeared on his television.
Jaune checked the leaderboards. While he ranked third, he was still behind two other players: CocoaLover1 (2nd Place) and EvilGenius1 (1st Place.)
"Time for a different game," Jaune said before pressing the eject button on his console.
Taking the disc away, he opened the "Monster Slayer 6." case and popped the disc into the console.
Yes. That was his training...
...And then there was the Xiaolin's training.
[Forever Falls: Secret Training Chamber]
Inside the training chamber, the Xiaolin Dragons were being trained by Ozpin. At the moment, they were performing target practice on a vase. The objective is to break the vases.
Making a finger gun and aiming it at the vase, Sun formed an air bullet on the tip of his index finger. Sun shot it out. The bullet went through the vase, destroying it. He brought his finger to his mouth and blew it out.
Ren levitated a rock, the very action made him slightly tired. He shot out the stone. It hit the vase. However, the rock cracked the vase, rather than shatter it.
Alex formed a solidified fire bullet and shot it out. The bullet went through the vase, destroying it. Alex spent a lot of time around the Kannagis, who specialized in fire attacks. From her mother's side of the family, she learned fire techniques.
Ruby levitated a droplet of water, the very act made her tired. She shot it out and the water bullet hit the vase. However, it did not break, let alone crack.
Ozpin nodded, understanding how difficult manipulating water could be.
After that was done, Ruby looked down.
"I understand your sadness Miss Rose, but don't worry. You'll get there after your training," Ozpin said.
"What? Oh, no. That's not it," Ruby said.
"Oh? Then, what troubles you?" Ozpin asked.
"I feel bad that we're keeping the whole search for the Shen Gong Wu a secret," Ruby said.
"I feel worse lying to Yang and the others."
Despite what she was told, Ruby was not good at being dishonest. Her emotions were an open book and she was naive. She believed that telling more people would be beneficial to their search.
