Cinder Fall:
When she was very young, she lost her parents and was sent to an orphanage. However, the institution was far from a loving home. She was bullied by the other orphans, and her caretakers were taskmasters. One day, she was adopted, but what was to be a fortuitous moment, was just the start of a series of unfortunate events. She was worked like a slave by her adoptive mother and step-sisters, having been treated worse than when she lived at the orphanage. After discovering her semblance, she used it to kill her step-family while they slept and went on the run. Eventually, she would meet Salem and join her.
Emerald Sustrai:
Abandoned by her mother, Emerald was dumped in the slums of Mistral. From that day on, she had to struggle every day, trying to fill her hungry stomach. One day, after stealing a gold pocketwatch from a Mistralian elite, she discovered her semblance of illusions and eluded him. From that day on, her life became better. However, Cinder found out about her. Instead of turning her in, she offered Emerald a chance at riches and food for her whole life. Emerald accepted and joined her.
Mercury Black and Artemis Black:
After killing their mother and any other immediate relatives, Marcus took the twins and raised them to be assassins for his guild. Throughout the years, he subjected his children to physical and verbal abuse, dubbed by him as "training."
Despite the hardships, the twins had each other. Knowing that they could get through the days. However, they grew worried one day when they discovered their semblances. Knowing their father's philosophy on semblances and how he stole semblances from others and gave them to other criminals, it was only a matter of time before he took theirs.
Finally, gaining power and having enough of their father's tyranny, they fought and killed him. That same day, they were met by Cinder and Emerald. Although Cinder was looking for Marcus, she offered the twins to join her, which they did.
Roman Torchwick and Neopolitan "Neo" Torchwick.
Roman was your gentleman thief. He and his sister were abandoned by their mother who worked in a brothel in Mistral. Their orphanage was abhorrent. After years of torment, they left. For years, they stole to make a living. One day, they would steal from a prominent member of a thieves' guild, The Silent Hand Syndicate. Rather than punish the two, he took them under his wing and trained them. Later on, they would join the thieves' guild. On one mission, they saved an infant Neo from a pack of Beowulves and adopted her. They raised her like family. Eventually, Neo joined the thieves' guild. Years went by, and Roman and Neo were coerced by Cinder to help with the Fall of Beacon plans.
Bleiss (Formerly Bleiss Schnee)
Bleiss is the twin sister of Weiss Schnee. During the birth, Willow was exhausted after Weiss came out. However, after she passed out, the staff noticed Bleiss and helped deliver, unbeknownst to Willow. While she was asleep, Jacques noticed how Bleiss looked different with red eyes and black hair. Although she was biologically his daughter, Jacques feared the rumors and scandals that would rise in their social circles and how Bleiss's existence would affect his future plans. Taking matters into his own hands, he bribed the staff that night to keep what they saw a secret and had Bleiss put in the care of mercenaries under his employ. Their job? Watch over her until the day of prophecy.
Her guardians were more akin to taskmasters. They treated her like a burden rather than a baby. Once she was able to work, she was given an absurd amount of chores and given so little to eat. One day, she ran away and met her sensei, Raijin, and the Voltarian Circle. This sect, like many, prided itself on the belief of the strong eating the weak. They let her in the clan. For years, Bleiss trained in the sect's swordsmanship, discovered her semblance, and saw the sect as a family. In time, the sect accepted her based on her merits and achievements. Bleiss was given the name Voltborne. For a while, Bleiss was happy.
Unfortunately, the sect's land was founded on an untapped dust vein. As a result, the SDC targeted them and killed all of the sect members except for Bleiss. Since the sect was seen as favorable as the Branwen Tribe, no one in Mistral batted an eye to their demise, even praising the SDC.
From that day, Bleiss pledged vengeance to the SDC. During her warpath, she met Cinder. When she offered Bleiss the chance of revenge by joining her, Bleiss joined.
