Amethyst held her older sister, Rose, as she cried over the loss of their older sister Daisy. Amethyst had spent the entire funeral without crying, because she thought that if Rose could be strong, then she could too. But when she saw the way that Rose was crying, all the tears she'd held in to that point fled from her eyes. They continued to cry with their arms wrapped around each-other until they were all out of tears.
For the rest of the afternoon Amethyst and her family were greeted with sad smiles and hugs as people went on and on about how sorry they were for their loss. But not amount of sympathy could make up for the aching in her heart at the loss of her sister. She always admired her older sisters, she saw something great in them which they couldn't see in themselves and longed for the day when they would pay some attention to her. But, they never did.
Amethyst always wanted for people to pay attention to her, but not like this.
